    Inspector

    Who You Are:

    • You have previous experience as an Inspector  related to the petrochemical industry, pulp or paper and mining.
    • You can perform thorough inspection as per the appropriate API standard
    • You are fit to work at heights and confined space entry.
    • Have good interpersonal skills and can interact with your supervisor and the customer to develop new relationships, increase revenue and profit
    • You can work under pressure and as per the clients request.
    • You can write reports including recommendations with photos on time and efficiently
    • You can advise the client on the best way forward to ensure that they timelines are met.
    • You are reliable and will ensure good performance to maintain our reputation.
    • You are team player and will contribute to maintaining accreditations, developing cost estimates and department goals for the EBES  inspection team.
       

    What you’ll have done before:

    Baseline:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent, Mathematic (SG+) and Science (SG+)
    • Must have API 653  for Tank Inspection,
    • South African Qualification & Certification Committee (SAQCC)- Competent Person Pressure Vessel (CPPV)  certified
    • Additional certification’s in American Petroleum Institute (API) 570 for Piping, API  510 for Pressure Vessel Inspection
    • Computer Literate in MS Office Suite and the Windows system
    • 5-10 years’ industry experience with the last 5 years being in a Petrochemical industry.

    Advantageous

     

    • National Association of Corrosion Engineers International (NACE) Level 1 and 2 for coating Inspection
    • Previous involvement in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), turnaround inspection and fabrication workshop inspection
    • Previous experience in AIA accreditation process.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Render Inspection and Approved Inspection Authority (AIA) duties as per inspection plan and schedule for new and existing customers including project work, new equipment fabrication and repairs.
    • Notify the customer in writing of any deviations detected during inspection and provide recommendations.
    • Act in an objective manner, be thorough and factual in any written report, statement or testimony of the work performed and include all relevant or pertinent information in such documents.
    • Engage the Quality & Technical Manager of any deviations that may comprise the implementation of the EIA quality management system.
    • Execute inspection activities within the prescribed local laws, company procedures and best practices .
    • Conduct scoping and develop  customer quotations
    • Any other related tasks that may be required from time to time
