Industrial Inspector - Glenvista at Rand Water

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Education: A three Year National Diploma in Environmental Management, Water Care and/or Analytical Chemistry
• Minimum Experience: At least minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in industrial effluent monitoring and inspection
• Computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• In possession of a valid driver’s licence and willing to drive long hours

Primary Duties

• The incumbent will be responsible for the inspection and monitoring of industrial effluent discharged into sewerage system
• Taking samples of such effluent for chemical analysis into laboratory and monitor high effluent industries
• Assist the Bulk Sanitation Technologist to calculate assessed tariff charges for the municipalities
• Plan, co-ordinates and liaises with industries, municipal departments, consultants and government departments.

Knowledge

• Sound knowledge of industrial effluent and sewage treatment processes, water chemistry, industrial processes and waste minimization
• Environmental and pollution control legislation and trade effluent by-laws
• Knowledge of Government legislation, NationalWater Act 1998 and NEMA
