    Impact Assurance Lead - Johannesburg

    Objectives of Role

    Programmatic with a focus on Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL)

    • Standardised Data Collection: Data will be collected consistently, making it easier to compare results across different programs and initiatives.
    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for AG Makers' programs and initiatives.
    • Conduct data analysis and present findings to the Management Committee and relevant stakeholders, providing actionable insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Support the Makers movement in designing and conduct research projects to assess the impact and effectiveness of AG Makers' interventions.
    • Analyse data and produce reports to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to share insights and best practices with the team and partners.
    • Develop Events survey and annual surveys administration for all AG Makers events.
    • Conduct data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) for all workstreams.
    • Conduct Data capturing (quantitative and qualitative) for all workstreams.
    • Conduct Data Quality Assurance (quantitative and qualitative)
    • Project assistance on key cross functional projects
    • Support the Makers Movement team with gathering research literature.
    • Conduct effective collaboration and knowledge sharing across Programmes to ensure enhanced quality and impact of programmatic initiatives remain at the forefront. 
    •  Perform quarterly and annual programme retrospective, prioritization & plans. 

    Stakeholder Relationship Management

    • Engage with stakeholders, including partners, funders, and beneficiaries, to gather feedback and insights.
    • Maintain strong relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and funders, to effectively communicate impact assessment strategies with donor requirements.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
    • Communicate programme effectively to all stakeholders including wider public and media.
    • Support the development of strong relationships and continually adds to and develops a database of Research partners and institutions.
    • Build strong internal relationships with the Allan Gray Makers teams.
    • Facilitate and ensure that strategic partnerships align with Allan Gray Makers practices and protocols 

    Analysis & Reporting

    • Compile programme progress reports for the Makers Hub Manager at agreed intervals.
    • Analysing information and data and compiling reports to the Makers Hub Manager on implementation, performance, and impact of Makers Start-up Academy.
    • Perform quarterly and annual programme retrospective, prioritization & plans

    Annual Budgets/Financial Management

    • Provide inputs to Manager on budgets for Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) elements.

    General Administration

    • Project Management
    • Managing and coordination Team meetings
    • Managing team calendar
    • Data Collation and organisation
    • Development of team communication with various Makers Teams

    Experience and Qualifications

    Minimum qualification 

    • Degree in relevant field.

    Preferred Qualification

    • Degree in Development Studies, Entrepreneurship, Measurement & Evaluation, or another relevant field.

    Minimum Experience

    • 3 – 5 years relevant experience in Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL). Or similar environment working in Entrepreneurial Development/Philanthropy context with a solid understanding of:
    • Entrepreneurship
    • Measurement & Evaluation 
    • Research and Learning
    • Data analysis role with a deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Analysis, and reporting
    • Passion for involvement in Philanthropy mission and experience in entrepreneurial development and/or enterprise development
    • Proven ability to conduct in-depth research, measurement, and evaluation
    • Willingness and ability to collaborate and align with internal Allan and Gill Gray Philanthropy teams and external subject matter experts
    • Project Management skills
    • Ability to plan, execute and lead
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualification

    • Experience within Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL).
