Job Description:

• As a Graduate: Mine Surveyor, you will be involved in providing survey services to support mining operations while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Activities include the maintenance of accurate mine plans and design, plaining the direction and the extent of working areas, as well as measuring/calculations for areas and volumes blasted for reconciliation and reporting services. You will have the opportunity to develop technical and interpersonal skills through constant liaison and collaboration with technical services personnel and production crews.

Initially, you will be offered a three-year graduate programme with our Southern Africa Business Units rotating to one or more of our sites where possible (three twelve-month placements). Qualifications:

To qualify for the Anglo American Graduate Programme, you must  

• Have a postgraduate (Honours) degree in Mine Surveying.
• Have a BTech in Mineral Resource Management
• Have completed your degree or are due to graduate by December 2023.  
• Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.  
• Be a team player with strong leadership potential.  
• Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a passion for challenging work in our operations.  
• Be available/willing to work in remote areas of South Africa as part of the Graduate Programme (Such as North-West (Rustenburg) and Limpopo (Burgersfort, Steelpoort, Mokopane, Polokwane, Thabazimbi, Northam).
• This role requires a high level of mobility. You are encouraged to obtain a driver’s license.
