Work Description
The Facilities Management Officer will form part of the Corporate Operations team and will assist the Facilities Management Coordinator in the maintenance and repairs including general construction - drywalling, hanging doors, ceilings, tiling, flooring, carpentry, painting, brick laying, plastering, minor electrical repairs and plumbing.
Technical Work Responsibilities
- Property Inspections
- Perform general maintenance work including drywalling, hanging doors, ceilings, tiling, flooring, carpentry, painting, brick laying, plastering, minor electrical and plumbing.
- Perform basic emergency repairs as needed and directed
- Cleaning and general maintenance of facilities
- Care and maintain maintenance equipment
Duties
- Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Painting and conducting repairs to flooring and other fittings
- Ensure that facilities are clean and in a good operating condition
- General furniture and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Set up new offices
- Responding to urgent maintenance calls
- Inspecting, fixing and maintain equipment and machinery
- Conduct preventative maintenance and identifying when items need upgrading or replacing
- Perform minor building repairs such as light bulb replacements, general light cleaning, unclogging drains, minor lock and door hardware repair and replacement and replacement of ceiling tiles etc.
- Rearrange office space as requested by moving office equipment, installing wall hangings, set up tables and chairs etc.
- Moving boxes, equipment, furniture etc. into or out of storage.
- Report all facility or equipment problems to the Facilities Management Coordinator.
- Operation of various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete scheduled maintenance tasks
Requirements
Education
Experience
- One to Two years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience of Maintenance and repairs
- Understanding of safety regulations
Requirements
- SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
- Valid SA Driver’s License (Essential)
- Driving experience essential
- Regular travel by land or air
Essential Requirements
- Highly proficient in English (Spelling and Grammar)
- Project Management skills
- Time Management skills
- Report writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a high level of PC literacy
- Strong Maintenance skills
