    Exception Reporting Analyst

    • The purpose of this position is to supervise Associates responsible to monitor compliance in terms of the requirements of the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers, Exchange Control Regulations, policies and procedures.

    Detailed Description
    The successful candidate will, among others duties, be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • To ensure compliance and reporting of cross-border transactions to prevent the abuse of the financial system and support regulation of financial institutions.
    • To adjudicate and sign exchange control correspondence/applications within the defined signing limit, and adhere to Bank policies, standards and laid down procedures, including control procedures aimed at mitigating risks.
    • To enhance risk-based supervisory practices by embedding a data-driven decision-making culture
    • To embed and enhance processes and systems to reduce inefficiencies on monitoring exceptions.
    • To supervise the preparation and finalisation of statistical reports and management information.
    • To engage and/or manages internal and external stakeholders.
    • To independently deliver high quality work, display a service orientation, prepares solutions that reflect the range of knowledge, methods/practices in the execution of tasks and activities.
    • To embrace and leverage analytical tools to automate processes.
    • To plan, manage and prioritise the delivery of own output, coordinate the deliverables of Associates and guide Associates in the execution of the division’s activities.
    • To provide input to Associates' performance evaluation and development needs.
    • To embed the SARB culture and manage change and innovation.

    Job Requirements
    To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Statistics, Business Science OR equivalent NQF level 7 qualification; and
    • five to eight years’ relevant working experience in the financial/banking or regulatory sector.

    Additional requirements include:

    • knowledge of the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers;
    • knowledge of the Exchange Control Regulations;
    • knowledge of relevant risk management practices;
    • an understanding of the key regulatory requirements facing financial institutions and related entities;
    • experience in using analytical tools such as PowerBI;
    • experience in leading teams;
    • service and stakeholder focus;
    • building and maintaining work relationships;
    • drive for results;
    • problem-solving and analytical skills;
    • financial and business acumen.
