• An exciting opportunity exists for an Engineering Draughtsman at NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED Isando Coffee and Creamer and Durban Tea.  The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and be responsible for developing detailed drawings for the design of the plant, and equipment, and assist with selected aspects of project management.

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

Preparing concept and detail drawings for plant and equipment installations:

• Design new factory layouts and modifications to plant and equipment
• Perform design calculations, lead and engage in design reviews and concept proposals
• Liaise with relevant site stakeholders to develop layout and design drawings

Updating of existing drawings (layouts, P&IDs, technical details):

• Site measurements, an inspection of plant and equipment
• Update of layout drawings and P&IDs (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil)
• Verification of existing layouts drawings & P&IDs (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil)

Implement and maintain a robust drawing management system:

• Develop and implement an effective and efficient electronic drawing management system
• Ensure that all drawings are up to date and any changes are managed with a change management process
• Archive old drawings

Assist with select aspects of project management:

• Provide technical and project management support to the Projects team during all stages of the project life cycle
• Assist with feasibility, costing, installation and commissioning activities
• Liaise with contractors regarding quoting and resolving technical queries and provide support for the Procurement process
   

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

• A minimum of 3 years experience as an Engineering Draughtsman
• FMCG or Manufacturing industry experience essential

Qualifications:

• N6 or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Project management qualification is advantageous

Additional Requirements:

• AutoCAD / Solid Works / Inventor or equivalent is essential
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Knowledge of industry drawing standards
