Diesel Mechanic at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• RCL FOODS is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our Baking Division. The role will be based in Benoni and report to the Transport Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent who will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, and keeping records

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric and Qualified Diesel Mechanic (N3 and Trade Test Certificate)
• 3 years of hands-on experience with Toyota & Isuzu Trucks
• Experience in diesel and battery-operated forklifts will be an advantage
• Auto electrical experience will be an advantage
• Drivers license code EC with PrDP
• Computer literate 

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs of commercial fleet i.e. Truck tractors, rigid trucks, motor vehicles, trailers, and forklifts.
• Optimize the availability and reliability of the fleet (trucks, motor vehicles, trailers, and equipment).
• Attend to breakdowns, repairs, and refurbishments and complete reports accurately.
• Roadside assistance (breakdowns)
• Carry out work as detailed in the Job cards.
• Complete job cards timeously
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled weekly.
• Detect mechanical and auto-electrical faults.
• Report all damages and incidents with recommendations.
• Diagnose and list renewable parts, confirm and discuss with Transport Manager.
• Storeroom stock levels and housekeeping.
• Incident & accident investigations.
• Must be available to work overtime or perform standby duties when required.
