Compliance Governance and Programme Support Specialist - Sandton - Johannesburg at FirstRand Group

Purpose

• To manage the implementation of the Group’s compliance governance and reporting programme. The incumbent will be the subject matter expert on compliance governance and reporting providing all compliance staff, senior management and applicable Board members with advice and assistance regarding compliance policies and governance aspects related thereto. This includes coordination of and consultation on compliance reporting, compliance risk appetite setting, compliance governance planning  and incorporation of the latest available methodologies and technologies to identify any opportunities to improve existing governance processes or system functionalities. 

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification – Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Risk, Compliance, Finance or Auditing
• Preferred Qualification - Post Graduate Degree in Law, Risk, Compliance, Finance or Auditing
• Experience - 5 years managing compliance programmes and performing compliance governance specialist functions in a similar environment

Responsibilities

• Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
• Identify, escalate, and mitigate potential risks associated across the compliance portfolio
• Provide guidance to all internal stakeholders to enable the fostering of sound governance practices at all levels in the Group
• Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisation

• Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy
