    Assistant Director: Marketing and Communications - Cape Town

    • To implement an efficient internal and external marketing , corporate  communication strategy.

    Minimum Requirements    
    REQUIREMENTS

    • National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in communication/ Marketing or equivalent
    • 3-5 years proven working experience in communications and a marketing environment at supervisory level.
    • A valid driver’s licence.
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
    • Advanced experience in the development of policies and implementation strategies.
    • Knowledge of policies and governance environment of TVET Colleges including knowledge of the annual reporting requirements by the Higher Education Institutions
    • Knowledge and understanding of the monitoring of performance management development system.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the TVET Administration
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education sector, especially the policies and relevant legislation.
    • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in developing innovative marketing campaigns.
    • Experience in managing advertising campaigns and working with external agencies.
    • Strong organisational and project management skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    • 3 years working experience and proficiency in digital marketing techniques and the use of social media platforms.
    • Certificate in digital marketing
    • Experience in the identification and optimal use of software packages for managing digital campaigns
    • Experience in the use of technology to enhance internal and external communications

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Manage and coordinate marketing, promotions and branding
    • Develop and manage college brand and visual identity and maintain the brand guidelines
    • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing and communication channels.
    • Oversee the production of marketing collaterals and publications, including brochures, flyers, banners, signage and digital assets.
    • Monitor and manage the college's online presence, including the official website and social media platforms.
    • Formulate and ensure implementation of the college branding strategy

    Digital Marketing:

    • Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns to enhance the college's online visibility and attract prospective students.
    • Manage the college's social media platforms and create engaging content to increase audience engagement and promote the college's programs.
    • Monitor and analyse digital marketing metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
    • Maintain the content design and layout of the College website.

    Manage public relations and media liaison services

    • Plan and coordinate advertising campaigns across various media channels, such as print, radio, television, and online platforms.
    • Identify relevant advertising opportunities in industry-specific publications, events, and online platforms.
    • Manage relationships with advertising agencies and other vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables within budget.
    • Manage all media and general community liaison and communications
    • Facilitate all media queries and responses as when required
    • Tracking all the positive and negative stories on the college including forwarding these to the relevant managers

    Coordinate College events and provide communication administrative support

    • Plan and coordinate promotional events, exhibitions, and other public engagements to showcase the college's offerings.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
    • Develop event marketing strategies to attract attendees and generate interest in the college's programs.
    • Manage all college events including exhibitions participation, prize giving, official functions and special marketing events

    Internal and External Communication

    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with internal stakeholders, including staff, faculty, and students.
    • Create and distribute internal newsletters, memos, and announcements to keep the college community informed.
    • Manage media relations through placement of college news and adverts.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as schools, local government, and community groups.
    • Gather and draft articles for the department/college ‘s electronic newsletter.
    • Editing the monthly electronic newsletter
    • Submit articles for compilation, verify and forward for approval.

    Management of all Human, Financial and other resources of the unit

    • Render management service to the staff
    • Manage the development and performance of the staff
    • Develop and Manage the marketing budget
    • Manage the procurement of all marketing collateral and services
