    Advocacy and Communications Officer

    What you will do in this role:

    • Lead and manage the Trust’s advocacy efforts, developing strategies that align with our mission and effectively influence policy and public opinion across the region.
    • Lead communication initiatives, ensuring our messaging is consistent, impactful, and reaches our target audiences.
    • Craft compelling narratives and ensure our internal and external communications are engaging and effective.
    • Drive our digital communications and social media presence, creating and curating content that engages, informs, and inspires.
    • Utilise digital tools to amplify our reach and impact across Southern Africa.
    • Empower our team and partners by providing training and support on advocacy and communication strategies, ensuring everyone is equipped to contribute to our mission effectively.
    • Manage administrative tasks related to advocacy and communications, including reporting, budgeting, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

    What we are looking for:

    • A passion for social justice and the power of communication to drive change.
    • Degree in Communications, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a similar field.
    • Proven experience in advocacy, communications, digital, and content management.
    • Strong understanding of the socio-political landscape of Southern Africa.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • A strategic mindset with a creative flair.
