    Consultant: Employee Relations

    Job description

    Key Purpose

    Employee Relations is focused on promoting positive working relationships and environments for all. The Employee Relations Department promotes Discovery values and culture. Employee Relations advisors facilitate good relations between employees and ensure that fairness and equity is at the forefront of such relations. They do this whilst observing the interest of the business at all times

    Key outputs

    • Provide training on Employee Relations philosophy and procedure
    • Represent the company in the handling of External arbitration processes
    • Facilitate conflict resolution between parties within the business unit
    • Support Employee Relations contract administration
    • Facilitate interaction between line manager and the employee
    • Perform IR climate analysis, evaluation, communication and data reporting
    • Participate in HR related value adding strategic projects
    • Execute administration of IR policies and procedures covering several disciplines in
    • Employee Relations
    • Review and maintaining people related policies
    • Drafting IR articles for publication
    • Understanding of CCM/Labour court litigation
    • Drafting reports
    • Consulting and advising on industrial relations matters within the Discovery environment
    • Facilitating training and coaching sessions
    • Resolving grievances

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    • 3 year Degree in HR Qualification
    • LLB specialising in Industrial Relations advantageous
    • 3- 5 year experience in Labour / Industrial Relations Experience, with wide exposure on internal Labour Relations
    • Working experience of Industrial relation and CCMA processes
    • Working experience and understanding of existing legislation, including but not limited to (BCEA, LRA and other relevant legislation
