(Salary range between R 780 000 (€ 52 000) – R 900 000 (€ 62 000) per annum (cost to company) plus incentives. South African market benchmarked and fixed in currency ZAR.
The essence of the role is essentially twofold:
- Establish the LifeCo UnLtd Impact Venture Capital Fund and pioneer its investment mandate and achieve agreed upon goals
- Grow the current asset base and investment portfolio to minimum R300m (€ 20m)
The successful candidate will work closely with Executive Management to establish and drive LifeCo UnLtd’s Impact Venture Capital Fund and to then source, value, structure and drive qualifying equity transactions through to execution. As an integral member of a team focused on all of the Groups current and future investments, to actively contribute to portfolio company growth through supporting the teams and provision of subject matter expertise in LifeCo’s key markets throughout Africa. The Investments Executive will also be responsible for developing other investment prospects and creating opportunities for collaboration sector wide.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Investments Executive will be responsible for overseeing the Group’s Investments, growing the investment portfolio and driving the establishment and building of the Group’s Impact Venture Capital Fund. This role will also require the following:

proactively network and support the sourcing of potential deals in Africa that are aligned with the Group’s profit with purpose ethos.

support the valuation, structuring and deal execution process

contribute to value creation and reporting for a range of investments across the sectors and geographies, with the aim of maximising exits

identify and recommend specialist local resources as required

participate in the due diligence process of new investment opportunities and identify areas of value add in corporate governance, operational efficiencies and product development

support the day to day management of the investments division signature systems and processes
-
manage a small team of investment and accounting specialists
New Business Development:

Create and deliver on the overall investment, fundraising and business development strategy for the Group, leading, enabling and encouraging cross-team working.

Evaluate the opportunities for investment and fundraising in each core capability area of the Group aiming to maximise assets and turnover.

Ensure that income targets (as agreed with the Executive Directors) from private and public sector funding are delivered.

Maintain and promote the keeping of accurate records in all aspects of the role.

Develop and cultivate lasting relationships with our current and future stakeholders, continually research and develop new collaborative opportunities.
In this hands-on role, the Investments Executive will be out there in the market and on the ground positioning the group as an attractive collaborator and developing new relationships with potential partners.

Raise the profile and awareness of the Group, its mandate and Impact Venture Capital Fund with institutions / investors.

Be fully conversant with relevant legislation and the guidelines of the registering frameworks, tax regulations as well as Enterprise Development and BEE codes in SA (if South African applicant).

Support the broader work of the strategy and team as required, including assisting with development of commercial propositions and activities as well and the broader engagement activity of the group.
