- Implement the end-to-end Community strategy in South Africa from conducting market research to identifying potential communities, engaging the community and measuring campaign results
- Promote the map editing functionality (Map Creator) with the ability to pull reports, make recommendations for positive improvements and work with technical teams to fix processes
- Passion for engaging and growing communities – this includes to provide training/education, run events, create videos, conduct focus groups, and media and social media engagement.
- Conduct audience analysis by researching existing audience segments and making recommendations for potential audience segments
- Investigate competitive information, potential new communities, latest industry trends and related topics
- Solicit, establish, train, educate and sustain strong relationships with our mapping community
- Create and customize training guidelines and marketing materials (brochures, emails, presentations, webinars, videos, websites, mobile apps etc) localized to the East/Weat and South African Region
- Coordinate and attend tradeshows, events and meetup’s
- Support social media activities and email enquiries
- Test and learn from a variety of campaign and activities
- Experience working with Marketing Agencies
- Prepare reports used to monitor community activities to drive evidence-based decisions and next steps
- Cross collobration with internal teams. Ie. Field Management, Production, Technical, Marketing, Sales, Product
- Collaborate and share best practice knowledge with other global Community team members
- Any other Community priorities and support of other projects as required
- Support segmentation analysis in order to identify and understand all of the potential community segments that exist in a sub-region to include their motivators and potential community engagement opportunities that exist with them
- Utilize segmentation analysis and research findings to support the creation and updating of the sub-regional community strategy based on current content requirements / gaps and community opportunities.
- Execute the community strategy by selecting an optimal mix of communities (e.g. type of community) to meet sub-regional goals and scope, budget, timeframe and quality requirements.
- Identify and deliver communications and proper incentive programs to keep targeted communities engaged (manage / increase active users and business value of community input) and adjust as necessary based on the ongoing levels and types of engagement received.
- Build relevant cross-departmental and cross-functional relationships (e.g. Sales, Marketing etc.) and collaborate with them in support of executing the overall community strategy.
- BA degree with a concentration in Communications or related field. 3-5 years of combined experience in communications, community engagement, marketing, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in community management, marketing, communications or other related role
- Excellent communication (oral, written) and presentation skills
- Strong understandging of Social Media ecosystem and tools
- Proactive style, self-starter who takes effective action to generate results.
- Result-oriented to analyze data, problem solve, prioritize and organize to achieve stated goals
- Demonstrates initiative, drive and problem solving skills to find solutions
- Able to work indepedently, but is a collaborative team player
- Ability to think outside of the box and implement creative campaigns
- Willingness to learn, share and make decisions from past results
- Handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
- Accountable for quality and accuracy of own objectives to reach assigned targets

- Flexible to some outside working hour activities and travel interstate/internationally as required
