    Business Development Executive Tax

    Job Description:

    • Join our Business Development team and you will support and execute go-to-market business development and marketing strategies. As a Business Development Executive (BDE) you will work with account teams to build relationships with our clients, drive new business and build revenue growth within TAX.
    • As Business Development Executive in TAX, you'll help grow revenue to meet EY's strategic objectives. To achieve this, you'll utilize the firm's cross-functional services to satisfy the needs of existing and potential clients. Although you'll receive broad direction on goals and revenue targets, you'll be expected to make independent decisions with moderate input from leaders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategy

    • Teaming with other BDEs to drive Service Line objectives
    • Identify and act on opportunities to build strategic relationships with partners, senior managers, Region leadership teams, practices and other areas, teams or departments to help achieve business goals
    • Driving ECS in every external and internal encounter, which includes:
    • Being connected to your Service Line and the client’s business agenda and leveraging the global EY network to connect our clients to the right people
    • Being responsive to our client’s needs and seeking and providing continuous feedback
    • Being insightful through proactively sharing relevant insights and best practice
    • Being viewed as a subject matter expert in the following areas:
    • Client business issues and challenges that drive opportunity
    • Current win themes and formulas for success on major pursuits and opportunities
    • Contributing to and assisting in managing overall Service Line pipeline
    • Executing pricing strategy with our people and with our select accounts and pursuits
    • Being an expert on EY sales tools, processes and methodologies

    Pursuits

    • Driving select pursuits, integration and pull-through on top-end opportunities where applicable
    • Serving as client-facing sales lead on designated opportunities
    • Leveraging and sharing best practices directly and indirectly from top opportunities
    • Working with our client service professionals to drive ECS through energizing our winning culture
    • Service line initiatives and campaigns
    • Driving initiatives through the distribution channels: Market Segments, G360 and Service Lines
    • Driving relevant thought leadership and Global Growth Platforms to clients through Service Line teams
    • Educating and communicating cross-Service Line opportunity triggers to internal stakeholders (e.g., Partners, G360 and Market Segment BDLs and Senior Managers)

    Administration

    • Support practice management
    • Pipeline update and reporting responsibilities
    • Leverage and direct available resources

    Desired Skills and Experience
    Qualifications:

    To qualify, candidates must have:

    • Minimum of 10 years business development experience in professional services and solutions
    • Proven record of selling complex services and solutions at the "C" level of mid-to-large-sized entities
    • Demonstrated track record of success in a solution-oriented, professional services environment
    • Team selling experience
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Understanding of the marketplace/industry, competitive and account information
    • Ability to team with and influence technical partners to formulate the best strategy to serve the client
    • Competent at following established procedures to monitor the progress of the business development process, and addresses any gaps
    • Ability to handle disappointment and/or rejection while maintaining effectiveness
    • Familiarity with trends and issues that create opportunities to add value to the client's business
    • Ability to identify appropriate product/service offerings to meet the client's needs
    • Skilled at creating a good first impression, commanding attention and respect
    • Able to project an air of confidence, and deal comfortably with customers and colleagues at the highest levels
    • Confident in using influencing skills and good communications to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea from prospects and clients
    • Adept at working in a matrix structure, balancing the needs of the client with those of the firm
    • Ability to work independently, and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
