    Senior Specialist: Content Operations

    Job description

    The G Band Senior Specialist: Content Operations is responsible for ensuring content ingestion and accuracy on the On Demand platform, ensuring accurate daily view reports are submitted to content partners, tracking content consumption, creating, loading and monitoring promotional bundles as approved by the ME: DLS.

    The Video On Demand platform is positioned to be the primary and key video delivery solution for all Vodacom customers in the future and this role is the key driver to make this happen.

    The Key Responsibilities For This Role Include

    • Develop and agree overall strategy and approach for content for Video On Demand, Video Play and Other Video services for mobile and fixed market segments
    • Increased customer revenue through SVOD, TVOD & Linear TV content libraries
    • Manage video driven data growth on the Vodacom network through an optimised content bundles
    • Ensure that content costs are optimised and revenue maximised through effective planning and reporting
    • Work in collaboration with the Content Acquisition teams to define the content rights and capabilities required to drive increased content consumption.
    • In collaboration with the Principle Specialist: Content Go to Market and Senior Specialist: Content Acquisition ensure that content marketing is correctly positioned and targeted to the relevant growth segments.
    • Defines Metadata and Content Ingestion Specifications, standards and operating processes with multiple content partners
    • Need to engage daily with all external content partners to ensure that content is properly ingested into all Video platforms with the correct title, imagery and metadata. Need to ensure that content ingestion from partners is in line with the contractual commitments as concluded by the Content Acquisition Senior Specialist. Also needs to ensure that the distribution rights by platform as agreed by content acquisition is correctly ingested into the platform with the Portfolio Manager On Demand and Video Play
    • Work closely with the platform operations team, and Vodacom’s fulfilment and assurance team to establish industrialised processes to ensure that all content is available to customers as per the secured rights. They must also have a robust process to ensure that when content playback fails or where there is content quality issues experienced on the service that the platform operations and customer care teams know what actions to take to ensure highest customer NOS

    • Ensure that content is accurately loaded into the on demand platform
    • Ensure that customer complaints are effectively addressed and develop robust refund and compensatory processes
    • Video On Demand, Video Play and View Plus Strategy and execution
    • Create overall content bundling strategy and obtain organisational buy-in
    • Drive delivery of projects to achieve business objectives.
    • Run initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, adoption, usage, transactions and revenue
    • Commercial Ownership of Video On Demand, Video Play and View plus KPI’s
    • Complete ownership of the Video On Demand KPI’s
    • Ownership of customer satisfaction measurement for all journeys
    • Drive customer adoption of Video On Demand products
    • Continuous monitoring of performance across services and projects
    • Subject Matter Expert, Organisational Leadership and communication.
    • Work closely with the mobile & fibre product teams to ensure that video forms part of future data propositions. Ensure timely delivery of these propositions..
    • Build very close relationships with Marketing, Segment, Technical, Support and other teams to ensure growth of these products to achieve KPI’s
    • Remove operational and execution barriers
    • Ensure effective working relationships with content partners
    • Ensure that all content meta data is accurate and exceptions are efficiently resolved
    • Build and execute robust processes to ensure quality of content on the video platform

    Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications

    • Minimum of an Honours Degree in business, computer science or information systems areas (essential)

    • 2 years’ experience in the Video on demand or entertainment industry (essential)
    • 2 years’ leadership/ managerial/ supervisory experience (essential)

    The G Band Manager: Social Media role is based within the Customer Care Group.

    The role of the Manager: Social Media is to be a passionate and driven Social Service Manager for the Social Media Command Centre. This role is suited for an individual with proven experience in managing Social Media response and service teams, is passionate about leading, inspiring and developing teams to achieve the best results within the organisation.

    Responsibilities of this role includes but is not limited to:

    • Being able to manage cross functional teams to deliver excellent levels of service whilst achieving KPIs within a brand and service driven environment.
    • Influencing & directing the performance of the Social Media Team who provides oversight, escalation and real time responses to customers who interact on Twitter & Facebook and other Social Media platforms as required.
    • Developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic to various owned digital properties and encouraging product adoption in conjunction with the Digital Marketing team
    • Managing brand reputation during crises situations in conjunction with the PR and Digital Marketing teams.

    Performance Improvement:

    • Provide input and support to the calendar for Social Media campaigns, online promotions and other community engagement activities to increase brand awareness & positive community sentiment.
    • Manage responses and service on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community platforms.
    • Manage and monitor key performance metrics to achieve monthly performance goals including but not limited to:
    • Social Media community sentiment
    • Influencer management
    • Customer satisfaction,
    • Social devotion – social service levels,
    • Quality, and productivity
    • TNPS’
    • NPS’
    • Gather and analyse data to identify individual and team performance metrics and achievement against these

    Delivering results

    • Responding to first line communications via social channels in core languages and resolving issues raised on social channels via second and third line support
    • Management of highly skilled, multi lingual, dedicated team with a passion for Social Media
    • Working with Digital Marketing, PR and outsourced agency partners to ensure that responses to customers align with the brand ethos, tone and communication style
    • Demonstrate the behaviours and leadership to manage a successful partnership with internal stakeholders, as well as outsourced agency partners
    • Take a lead role in the implementation of fit for purpose Social Media management platforms and be proactive in contributing to the development of the platform
    • Delivering high levels of customer satisfaction
    • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of Social Media response and service effectiveness and act upon the results
    • Own and manage the customer experience through the different Social Media touch platforms

    To report on performance

    • Report on social service KPI’s and include updates on operational issues.
    • Circulate insights gained from Social Media reports to the Management teams to help them enhance their products & services
    • To manage the Team and be the single point of contact for first line leadership
    • Maintenance & implementation of policies, procedures and regulations.
    • Interpret and analyse management information and statistical reports and propose action plans.
    • Ensure alignment of operations to budget requirements.

      • Provide guidance and support to Supervisors by providing key people items including but limited to performance & incapacity management, staffing and capacity requirements, etc

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric / Grade 12 is essential
    • 3 year relevant degree / diploma essential
    • Minimum 5 years’ relevant essential experience in:
    • Contact or Call Centre operations
    • Social Media Service Management experience in a corporate business with expertise in multiple Social Media platform
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management or leadership role
    • Certification in Social Media platforms, service or reputation management

    Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience
