    Compliance Officer

    Role Purpose

    • To build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (i.e. the division’s 1st line as well as 2nd line divisional functions such as risk, legal and 3rd line being audit) by establishing effective partnerships to identify and manage compliance risks.

    Requirements

    • BCom Degree (General, Legal or Compliance) or LLB
    • Any compliance related certificates
    • At least 4-6 yrs experience in a legal or compliance administration position in a short or long-term insurance operation.
    • Practical experience in  the financial  services  industry in  either  a legal  or compliance role(s)
    • Solid knowledge and understanding of Long-term Insurance Act, Short-term Insurance Act, Financial Intelligence Act, Insurance Act, FAIS Act and POPI Act

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Manage relations with Regulators (FSCA, PA & NCR)
    • Assist in developing and implementing processes to identify, manage, mitigate and report on money laundering, proliferation financing and terrorist financing risks
    • Providing proactive and responsive advisory support on compliance related matters
    • Be responsible for establishing the written policies and procedures regarding the AML/PF/CFT, the measures to control money laundering risk including guidance on the customer due diligence in accordance with the FIC Act and other the applicable legislation
    • Provide advice to all relevant departments/ divisions on AML obligations including but not limited to the identification and reporting of suspicious transactions
    • Be responsible to conduct ongoing training courses to promote awareness of the AML/CFT laws and regulations and Guardrisk’s RMCP
    • Monitor controls and follow up on the closure of gaps identified. Ensure all management personnel and staffs are fully knowledgeable of the risks involved and about their responsibilities with regards to AML-CFT
    • Oversee the implementation AML/CFT/CPF controls for Guardrisk international branches
    • Analysis, interpretation and impact assessment of new legislation
    • Develop and maintain CRMP’s for high risk legislation
    • Adopt and adhere to a risk-based approach in the management of compliance risk
    • Keep abreast of all regulatory developments/changes that may potentially impact the division and engaging relevant stakeholders on a timely basis to ensure business readiness and ongoing compliance risk management

    Portfolio Manager Mining Rehab

    Role Purpose

    • To maintain and grow an existing portfolio of clients through relationship management, financial process efficiencies and new business acquisition.

    Requirements

    • Relevant tertiary qualification B.Comm/B.Comm Accountiing
    • FAIS compliant
    • Related Insurance qualification (preferred)
    • At least 5 years’ experience in client services and operations within an Insurance services environment
    • At least 5 years business management experience
    • Knowledge and experience of the financial services or insurance industry
    • Cell Captive Insurance Model experience will be an advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Developing an ongoing prospect pipeline through liaison within the greater business, client relationship
    • Using financial acumen to interpret financial statements, actuarial data and ability to deal with budgets
    • Developing Guardrisk image and presence
    • Identifying opportunities to maintain and grow the portfolio
    • Conducting meetings with clients and discussing pertinent business risks and develop/enhance solutions accordingly

    • Monthly budget review and reporting on variances and new business targets
    • Tracking renewals for their portfolio
    • Monthly reporting back to the Executive on the above mentioned items
    • Managing delivery against deadlines, i.e. budgets, forecasts, projects
    • Work closely with finance Executives to ensure all client financials are accurate and reinsurance is paid timeously

    Life Disability Claims Specialist

    Role Purpose

    • Responsible for the day to day management and processing of the Life 1st & 3rd Party Claims. 

    Requirements

    • Matric Certificate
    • BCom Degree would be an added advantage
    • Previous management (junior/senior) in a Claims Department
    • Preference given to candidates who have previously worked in an EB environment with a minimum of 3 years
    • Working knowledge of Reinsurance claims systems
    • Working knowledge of all MS Office Applications
    • Prior handling and exposure to any type of 1st party product
    • At least 5 years claims management experience
    • At least 10 years insurance industry experience
    • At least 3 years policy wording interpretation experience

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide coaching, support, and assistance to claims staff (1st & 3rd Party claims staff)
    • Assessment and Management of all PTD Lump Sum, PHI, TTD, GLA, Hospital, Retrenchments, Critical Illness/Dread Disease & Funeral
    • Assessment and Management of all Dread Disease, PHI and TTD, PTD Lump Sum payment calculations
    • Attend monthly client meetings where applicable
    • Ad hoc projects (System enhancements etc)
    • Attending to complex 1st & 3rd Party matters
    • Ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to

    • Effective management of complex matters and providing guidance and/or instruction to cell captives/binder holders
    • Dealing directly with applicable Reinsurers and relevant stakeholders in the decision-making process, the handling of complex matter and dealing with referrals
    • To assist with 3rd party claims management when required by management
    • Responsible for the capturing of all claims onto the Cell/Binder Source system and or GR Cell Administration system (Neo)
    • Attending to ad-hoc tasks/Projects when required
