    Delivery Lead: Data Management

    Role Description

    As the Delivery Lead you will join our Project/ Delivery Management team and focus on enabling the Agile delivery method within our Scalable Warehouse Centre of Excellence team along with other Agile duties.

    The Delivery Lead will be considered a subject-matter expert, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and a drive to make a difference. The Delivery Lead will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum and/or Kanban, removing impediments from their team while promoting self-management and constantly improving our standards of work. The Delivery Lead will also be responsible to mentor data engineers, BI engineers, data analysts and testers. The incumbent will be required to engage and align with the various stakeholders with SBI to create a synergy from within.

    What will you do?

    Output/Core Tasks

    • Ensure systems and processes across teams are operated efficiently and effectively and deliver against business needs
    • Establishes and manages team cadence throughout delivery lifecycle, facilitation of all scrum ceremonies
    • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
    • Stakeholder management and playback, including product owners, executive sponsors and other external teams
    • Work closely with leadership to define product and establish product backlog. Owns delivery roadmap.
    • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies, managing risks and issues.
    • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration Hub stakeholders
    • Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders)
    • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
    • Works with Squad, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
    • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards in accordance with SBI and SGT processes and standards (i.e., architecture and security standards, project management and quality assurance methodologies etc.) at the end of each sprint
    • Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams in Operations, as well as important BI initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives.
    • Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
    • Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it
    • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur
    • Help teams implement changes effectively
    • Ensure quality and cost-effective software development and maintenance of key BI Automation tools (Wherescape)
    • Assist with onboarding resources
    • Lead by example and define, where necessary, the necessary support model (People and process)

    Qualifications

    Role Requirements:

    • An Appropriate IT Qualification (Diploma/Degree) will be a strong recommendation.
    • Knowledge of technology (existing & emerging) & its application in the insurance industry
    • Strong delivery and project management knowledge
    • Financial acumen in budgeting and management of IT costs to business unit/s
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
    • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
    • Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
    • SAFe Certification and/or similar will be advantageous
    • Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams

    Knowledge And Experience

    • Tertiary Qualification in Computer Science, Software Development or Information Systems, or other related fields
    • 4 years of product or project development experience, or 3 years of project development experience on an Agile Team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
    • Knowledge of AGILE project management is desired
    • Experience in leading a team of software developers and analysts
    • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines and BI applications will be advantageous
    • Experience in managing services provided by 3rd party vendors
    • Experience in using collaboration and backlog grooming tools is required
    • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques

    Class Of Business (COB)

    • Should the candidate have been deemed Fit and Proper for Tier 1 by 01 April 2018, the candidate is then deemed competent for Class of Business. All applicants that were still under supervision for any competency requirement pre or post 01 April 2018 will be required to have obtained Class of Business prior to appointment. If a potential candidate has not completed Class of Business they are still deemed to be under supervision and cannot be appointed as a Sales Manager.

    Test Analyst

    What will you do?

    The Test Analyst in the External Acquisitions (Investment Acquisition) team is responsible for setting up the relevant documentation to identify and define the required tests (test plan and test matrix), preparing test data in all the different environments, executing the test conditions to verify the results in the different stages of testing whilst carefully monitoring test coverage to evaluate the overall quality experienced.
