    Depot Engineer

    Purpose of the role:

    • Provide Technical and Engineering support to the Depot
    • Manage and be a be part of Engineering, looking for the improvement of the reliability and availability of the fleet
    • Through technical data analysis from commercial service (during warranty and out of warranty), propose ideas for Life Cycle Cost (LCC) improvements either on product design, process and tools
    • Be technical referent to resolve technical issues at the Depot level, ensuring Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) requirements are met and be the link between Depot and Gibela Central Engineering to escalate issues that need Gibela Central Engineering support
    • Execute Engineering activities in the project at depot Level
    • Coordinate with Central Engineering functional tests, train validation as per all test or validation requests

    Mobility: The job requires some mobility to client depots, suppliers and the customer

    Requirements:

    Responsibilities and objectives:

    Technical Support Function

    • Assure the technical support to the projects
    • Resolve technical problems by identifying root causes and develop robust solutions that are right first time
    • Feed the Central Engineering with pre-processed data for improvement of the train reliability and maintenance plan
    • Escalate repetitive failures to central Engineering
    • Manage the central continuous improvement flow of issues raised at the depots and liaise with the Central Engineering team for solutions
    • Propose innovative solutions and implements solutions in the projects
    • Manage technical points raised by Customer and Gibela team in Web-Portal tool

    Operations Functions

    • Allocate and review weekly faults with the customer
    • Flag Potential Service Affecting Failures (SAF) to the business
    • Update SAP with all confirmed and agreed failure notifications
    • Lead contractual technical investigations and recoveries for Major EMD
    • Track all measurements analysis KPI’s in depot relating to Central Engineering
    • Support field modifications for complex solutions
    • Support Supplier Quality at the depot for complex investigations and non-conformance (NCR) claims
    • Technical support for Reliability Growth through investigations and data analysis.
    • Technical support for Warranty Field Engineer in order to ensure maximum train availability

    Site RAMS Manager

    Purpose of the Job:

    • Manage the RAMS activities in accordance with QCD commitments on the project(s)/program(s) allocated to the Site
    • Ensure the deployment of QMS and corresponding Engineering instructions (in particular RAM & Safety) on the Site

    Support the product performance by ensuring RAMS requirements are identified upstream allowing to:

    • enhance their capability to meet the expected reliability targets
    • reach an acceptable level of risks as per the Gibela Transport Safety policy
    • Manage and develop the RAMS Team on Site
    • Manage the RAMS workload on Site
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the RAMS Métier in collaboration with the Central Engineering RAMS team

    Responsibilities

     Accountable for:

    • Implementing an organisation to ensure the proper management of the RAMS activities of the projects/programs under the responsibility of the Site as per the applicable RAMS instructions/processes.
    • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the performance by ensuring the application of the RAMS process and tools enhance the level re-use of the studies and optimise the amount of engineering hours spent on projects.
    • Ensuring the proper follow-up of the QCD RAMS Work packages for the Site.
    • Supporting the RAMS team in the resolution of issues in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external) and to support them in the definition of priorities.
    • Ensuring the RAMS performance of the product is properly managed on each project/program and follow-up the main open RAMS actions for "at risk" or challenging projects/programs
    • Ensuring the reliability and safety design reviews are prepared and documented as per the project/program schedule and to follow-up the main open actions.
    • Ensuring a safety leader is appointed for safety issues (K1 8D) relevant for the site and contribute to its closure as per RSA-WMS-002.
    • Ensuring RoE of projects/programs (product reliability measure, K1 issue ...) from RAMS perspective is properly feedback to the technical repository and/or RAMS processes as applicable.
    • Managing the development of the site RAMS team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills with the support of the N+1.
    • Ensuring adequate RAMS resources are appointed to the projects/programs allocated to the Site.
    • Managing the forecast of the Site workload, based on hypotheses provided by the workload manager and identify necessary resources to secure project QCD commitments.
    • Alerting the N+1 in case of team issue in terms of capacity, skills etc.
    • Ensuring the Central RAMS/Engineering rules & processes are understood and applied in particular those dedicated to RAMS activities.
    • Reporting on the progress of the Site RAMS activities and alert the N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting the achievement of the QCD commitment.
    • Following-up on the potential blocking issues with regard to the expectations of the next Safety/Reliability design review milestone and be a support in the implementation of the related resolution plan.
    • Being a pro-active contributor to the improvement of the RAMS Métier rules in collaboration with the Central Engineering team.
    • Contributing to the Central Engineering RAMS network.

    Responsible for:

    • Supporting the other stakeholders (design, industrial, sourcing, warranty, T&C, quality, etc..) in the understanding of the RAMS processes and actions in particular with regards to the interfaces in between the teams.
    • Being the responsible at Site level for the transverse RAMS actions and for topics addressed at: Site (progress plan), Region, Central/Transport level.
    • According to the Site RAMS team size and workload, taking the role of Train/Subsystem RAM/Safety Engineer on one or several projects.
    • Applying and follow-up the People Management Cycle on time for the Site RAMS according to N+1 and HR instructions
    • Having a pro-active challenging view on the overall RAMS results of the studies performed by the Site team to enhance their adequacy/consistency and compliance the applicable RAMS instructions and guidelines.  
    • Ensuring the RAMS part of the technical repository of the relevant products is properly maintained.
    • Providing feedback to Central Engineering on the application of the RAM & Safety processes
    • Raising an issue at Central RAMS Director level in case of RAMS Métier issue that goes beyond the scope of the site.
    • Reporting RAMS performance and distributing to the relevant internal and external stakeholders

    Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience

    Minimum education required:

    • BSc/B.Eng. Degree or BTech in Electrical and/or Electro-mechanical Engineering
    • Management/Leadership Qualification (minimum NQF7) will be an advantage
    • Registered or Registerable (in less than 1 year) with ECSA will be an advantage

    Minimum experience required:

    • 5+ years’ experience in Electrical and/or Electro-mechanical Engineering applied to Railway products
    • Experience of 3+ years in people management
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word….)
    • RAMS assessment and demonstration
    • General Understanding of SAP/GSI system
    • Understanding of Engineering standards and their application

    Indirect Sourcing Specialist

    Purpose of the Job

    • To support Indirect Sourcing Manager and indirect team activities by conducting all required analyses and supporting the execution of strategic development, tendering processes, spend analysis, Stakeholder management and contract administration, price escalation, procurement governance and APSYS process implementation
    • Manage the different savings initiatives and support WPC / O on streamlining the initiatives with the budget allocated. Assist the PRSM team with APSYS road Map and all audits related to Indirect sourcing

     Key responsibilities include the following:

    • Determine historical spend
    • Forecast future demand based on business unit plans
    • Liaise with external supplier and market researchers to understand market trends and cost drivers
    • Consolidate the Indirect spent per commodity to formulate a strategy
    • Liaise with central on the market codes and the impact it has on daily operations
    • Change agent between internal stakeholders
    • Consolidate price escalation indexes on a yearly basis, ensuring the process starts 3 months in advance vs the base date
    • Align with legal team and formulate strategic direction with regard to standard contract conditions for Gibela use in Procurement of assets, goods and services.
    • Provide standard conditions of tendering for use throughout Gibela
    • Advise on use of standard contracts and special contracts • Advise on contracting and tendering strategy and contracting process strategy
    • Identify new legislation which will affect Gibela’ s Procurement environment and advise on appropriate action with regards to contractual policy and legal perspective.
    • Responsible for contract management and supplier management during the contract phase
    • Identify developments and triggers for future demand shifts
    • Determine their impact on Procurement activities
    • Assist the Indirect Manager and Lead to develop sourcing strategies
    • Map commodity sourcing performance against set targets/KPIs and identify risk areas

    Key measurements :

    • Manage Sourcing, tendering and negotiation activity relating to a commodity  / subcategory in order to deliver contracting arrangements which will deliver maximum value for Gibela
    • Create a contract dashboard and analyse revision formulae
    • Monitor contract and supplier performance through a set of structured matrix and key performance indicators
    • Align Global contract to local regulations
    • Ensure all Gibela contract pricing and appendices are reviewed for budget allocation, legal terms and treasury regulation
    • Liaises with the relevant Manager for most of their time.
    • Interfaces with Contract Management, Legal and ESD
    • Also interacts with other Specialist / Analysts to share insights, tips and tricks.
    • Communicates with business stakeholders to extract data, assess business requirements, analyse spend and as part of implementing sourcing strategies.
    • Communicates with suppliers (e.g. when running RFI, RFP or RFQ processes).
    • Manage the relationship with legal sourcing, contracts and end users in relations to contract executions

    Requirements:

    Sourcing Manager TSSSA

    Purpose of the Job

    • Support project execution by managing Sourcing strategies, lead the team of Commodity Buyers and Commodity Leads on both direct and indirect, Capacity of Suppliers to support spares and warranty parts, QCD and ED performance.

     Key responsibilities include the following:

    • Support execution of the sourcing strategy for all TSSSA service centres
    • Collaborate with the Head of PRSM and work with all domains.

    Material Planning and MRP Controller

    Purpose of the Job:

    • Supply the project with materials and parts necessary to complete the maintenance of trains and projects and help achieve the customers expected OTIF
    • Utilise the SAP GSI system relating to Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP)/Material Master/Transfer of Materials & purchases pre-sourced Materials.  Responsible for the overall use of the SAP GSI system within the supply chain ensuring accuracy of the system at all times
    • Support the businesses by ensuring the correct stocks are maintained at each location. Organise the data and manages the flows of goods at optimum cost and with attention to risk control and company performance improvement

    Experience

    • B-Tech Degree in Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering /Logistics Management

    Environment, Health and Safety Officer Day

    MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

    • Support Site EHS manager for EHS topics
    • Cooperate with the internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
    • Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and to define appropriate measures to control risks.
    • Support the EHS Site Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans.

    • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS manager.
    • Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any discrepancy.

    Methods Engineer - Braamfontein Depot

    Gibela Rail invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Methods Engineer position. The successful candidate will be based in Gauteng South Region at Braamfontein Depot.

    The position reports to the Braamfontein Depot Manager/Depots Industrial Manager in the Industrial organization.

    Requirements:

    Purpose:

    • Industrialize the Preventive and Corrective maintenance (including EMD) of the train for Operations in Braamfontein considering existing standards & project constraints
