    Manager New Development– REF: JW391EX/2024

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Resolve customer/consumer queries and complaints related to new connections and new developments.
    • Ensure construction of reticulation is in line with approved plans (New Development and CAPEX) and compliant with JWater standards and specifications.
    • Report any deviations to Engineer/contractor within the specified timeframe.
    • Ensure acceptance tests are conducted and tie-ins are in accordance with specifications.
    • Conduct required tests and sign off on acceptance.
    • Ensure as-built plans are submitted, handed over to Development Control, and captured on GIS within the specified timeframe.
    • Determine connection size, align with estimated consumption, and ensure compliance with emergency services regulations.
    • Ensure full compliance with the metering policy.
    • Administer quotations for disconnection of services as determined by the Tariff of Charges.
    • Ensure Reg. 38 certificates are processed.
    • Keep accurate records, including site inspections, meetings attended, final inspection, as-built drawings, and record of new connection applications to CoJ, and present them monthly or as required by the Regional Manager.
    • Manage and distribute accurate information on new connections to Operations.
    • Conduct daily analysis of information communicated to the Regional Manager.
    • Monitor meter data quality.
    • Manage Health and Safety, ensuring that annual incident reduction is kept to a minimum.
    • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, procedures, and OHSA regulations.
    • Consult and communicate with Trade Unions to lobby for support.
    • Compile and submit monthly safety reports to the Regional Manager by the deadline.
    • Develop and maintain the operating budget.
    • Develop and manage individual and team competence by ensuring that personal development programs for subordinates are implemented by the annual deadline.
    • Manage workplace climate.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Essential qualifications and experience:

    • National Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (NQF 6)
    • 5 years experience in construction of water and sanitation infrastructure, of which 3 years must be in managerial level.

    Regional Manager - REF: JW391EX/2024

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the development of overall strategy for the region in the context of the policy framework set by Johannesburg Water.
    • Initiate and coordinate the formulation of policy for the development of service delivery in the respective regions.

    Data Controller – REF: JW391EX/2024

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Accurately capture the first phase of the core data that comes through the SAP system (plant maintenance) and route/assign work orders to the responsible foreman/operations manager.
    • Rectify data errors on the SAP PM system to enable depots to complete transactions and improve quality.
    • Assist walk-in and call-in customers in creating Work Orders.
    • Assist artisans when the foreman is not available to assign work orders.
    • Keep depot staff (Ops Manager/Foreman) informed on data-related matters.
    • Highlight captured errors to depot staff (Ops Manager/Foreman) and assist them in rectifying errors.

    Artisan Diesel Mechanic – REF: JW391EX/2024

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Submit job cards daily.
    • Ensure all check sheets and overtime sheets are correctly filled before the end of the shift.
    • Complete Vehicle Inspection sheets and Logbooks daily and submit to the Foreman or Ops Manager weekly.
    • Submit petrol slips monthly as per Johannesburg Water Vehicle Policy.
    • Liaise with suppliers and user departments within Johannesburg Water.

    • Maintain, repair, and service mobile plant equipment, including water tanks, trailers, jetting machines, bucket machines, welding machines, generators, compressors, and lighting plants.
    • Ensure roadworthiness of plant and equipment under control.
    • Maintain, repair, and service forklifts and TLB (Back Actor) as per manufacturers' and Johannesburg Water specifications and maintenance schedules.
    • Advise user departments on the safe operation and use of machinery.
    • Assist user departments with planned and emergency work, providing on-site maintenance and repairs for minor plant and machinery.
    • Check and repair lights, lenses, reflectors, plugs, wiring harnesses to comply with roadworthy requirements on mobile plant.
    • Perform basic auto-electrical repairs and maintenance.
    • Carry out maintenance on minor plant stationed at Network Regions and Electro-Mechanical depots.
    • Repair and maintain yellow plant.

    Onsite Coordinator –REF: JW391EX/2024

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Schedule monthly work plans with contractors for the supply and maintenance of water tankers, chemical toilets, and pit latrines.
