    Specialist: Investigations and Forensics-PYD

    Position Purpose:

    • To manage, co-ordinate and control TFR investigations within corridors and to function in accordance with TFR strategic plans in the respective corridors and to consult on Provincial Levels with various internal and external role players to proactively implement corrective, investigative and strategic measures to protect TFR assets and to prevent potential TFR losses through criminal activities and to implement Provincial security policies, procedures and programs throughout the assigned province and to ensure compliance for RSR Audits.

    Position outputs:

    • Ensures case flow management of all incidents, crime status and correct reporting codes of incidents at SAP Stations eg: CMAA, POCA or CPA status and Information, data base on suspects and case management is updated on the Investigation App / TOMS / Share Drive / Docket
    • Liaison and engagement with NPA at Court to ensure cases are opened under the correct Act with all necessary statements and evidence, to ensure that bail is opposed and that convictions received are in line with the Act.
    • Liaison and evaluate and determine which cases need to be opened under the Criminal Matters Amendment Act or
    • Criminal Procedures Act and engagement with SAPS Detectives on relevant cases to ensure dockets are court ready with impact statements, identification statements and photo’s albums.
    • Collaborate with other Public companies and State Owned Enterprises, such as ESKOM,TELCOM and SAPS, to coordinate and facilitate investigation and information for linkages on other cases and modus operandi.
    • Develops implements and manages policies, procedures, standards and methods for identifying and protecting intellectual property assets, employees, property, facilities, operations, theft, vandalism, espionage, sabotage or loss.
    • Provide sound investigation leadership in managing critical incidents in the region and provide input to the regional Senior Management team in crisis management situations and reviews of critical incidents and provide investigative advice and support to the regional leaders and the regional team on recommendations, security issues and their possible impact to the regions’ strategies and operational plans and programmes.
    • Compile, monitor and manage the annual operating budget for the department/region to ensure that costs are maintained within the agreed limits and expenditure is in line with the approved business plan and investigation targets and manage all assets and vehicles allocated to the department to ensure proper utilisation and adherence to good corporate governance and company vehicle policy.
    • Oversees the on-going performance management and training & development of staff in order to ensure they meet their performance objectives as per agreements and promote the talent management needs of individuals and the company.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in Security Management, Security Risk Management, Policing, Forensic Investigation or Criminology with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a security and/ or crime prevention and investigation environment of which at least two (2) years‘must have been in a supervisory role
    • Alternative for candidates without a Degree in Security Management, Security Risk Management, Policing, Forensic Investigation or Criminology qualification must have 8 years’ experience in the security and/ or crime prevention and investigation environment of which 4 years’ experience must have been in a supervisory role
    • The applicant must be in possession of a Code B Driver’s Licence and be competent and prepared to drive such a vehicle
    • Registration with PSIRA will be an added advantage (the successful applicant must obtain PSIRA grade A within 3 months after appointment)

    Snr Investigation Officer-STQ

    Position Purpose:

    • Manage, co-ordinate and control the Corridor Investigation and strategic alliance function in accordance to the strategic plan in the respective corridor / province and to consult on Provincial level with various internal and external role players to proactively implement corrective, investigative and strategic measures to protect Transnet assets and to prevent potential losses through theft and fraudulent activities.

    • Flow Management Meetings and ensuring case dockets are registered under Criminal Matters Amendment Act and or other charges, impact statements, identification statements and photo albums, testimony in court investigation of internal and identified organized crime cases and information of syndicates as well as/ disciplinary hearings and CMAA and conduct awareness sessions on any gaps in the investigation environment and ensure maximum sentence is received in court.

    Senior Manager: Research & Development

    Position Purpose:

    • To lead, manage and take accountability for the research, development, and design of novel world-class port infrastructure solutions, new technologies and standards.

    Position Purpose:

    • To develop a cutting-edge, world-class business intelligence and analytical function, as well as offer expertise in applying data visualisation techniques, to support decision making, strategy formulation and stakeholder management for the SCM community.

    • To lead the effective implementation of program management processes in managing CI projects and initiatives that are mapped to business objectives to improve organisational performance.
    • To drive strategic alliances and provide expert advice to TCC and OD leadership team and other stakeholders on best practices in the adoption and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business performance.
    • To lead the Continuous Improvement team in the delivery of their outputs across the TCC and ODs

    Position outputs:

    • Lead Continuous Improvement’s strategic planning and execution through collaborations, strategic alliances, and partnership with SCM stakeholders at TCC and ODs; to ensure the successful delivery of business improvement processes.
    • Lead the implementation of the continuous improvement strategy for the Procurement function and refresh relevant processes based on feedback, business requirements and process evaluations for effectiveness and enablement of TransnetProcurement’s strategy and objectives.
    • Drive business improvement project initiatives across TCC and ODs; and process reengineering principles to improve process efficiencies.
    • Drive the delivery of transversal CI programs that consist of multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives to improve SCM’s overall performance.
    • Drive implementation of quality management techniques on all continuous improvement activities and tasks that must be accomplished to maintain a desired level of excellence through assurance.
    • Develop and review enterprise SCM risks, regularly update the risk register in collaboration with risk management and identify effective mitigation factors.
    • Drive and facilitate continuous improvement workshops, track and monitor, implementation and benefits realisation against plan
    • Facilitate Research and Development and benchmarking for best practices, international trends, world class continuous improvement environment to develop new and improved CI products and service across SCM.
    • Lead the identification and strategic sourcing of Lean tools, methodologies, and techniques, that will provide operational guidance and direction in the adoption and application of the tools across SCM.
    • Identify and communicate activities and tasks across TCC and OD SCM, to promote CI’s brand awareness.
    • Collaborate with change management experts in the implementation of process, tools and techniques to manage CI driven changes in order to achieve the required business outcome.
    • Facilitate contract management process through a contract request or initiation, negotiation and approval stages, execution, and signature as well as obligation monitoring, renewals, amendments, and expiration for CI projects.
    • Monitor the planning and controlling of financial activities including procurement of goods and services, preparation, and utilisation of budgets, as well as collaboration with finance on the reporting of financial expenditure.
    • Lead and manage people through mentorship, performance and behavioural coaching, skills and implementation for an effective organisational culture.
    • Drive implementation people policies and procedures, development of employee value proposition, design, and review employee performance, ensure consistent performance management system in place and individual performance development.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • B Degree / BTech in Industrial Engineering or equivalent;
    • 12 years of experience working in a continuous improvement environment, of which 5 years at enterprise-wide level, and at least 3 years at management level.
    • Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external (Upward and downward)
    • Demonstrate project management skills on cross#functional initiatives.
    • Change management experience
    • Excellent eye for detail and written communications
    • Proven track record of facilitating training sessions and mentoring of CI resources
    • Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19
