    Senior Professional Officer - Immovable Property Planning

    Requirements 

    • B Tech or First Degree relevant to immovable property management
    • Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience in a property management related field
    • Knowledge of Local Government Municipal functions and related legislation and policies
    • Good knowledge of property industry, understanding of property trends and property market
    • Knowledge of the Corporate Governance Principles - Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices

     Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite

    • Valid Drivers’ licence and own vehicle Key Performance Areas
    • Develop and maintain portfolio frameworks, classification criteria and allocate assets to portfolios
    • Develop and maintain a performance measurement model and business system solution for immovable property assets
    • Oversee the measurement of performance and develop a remediation strategy and remediation plan per portfolio
    • Provide guidance, training and advice on execution of remediation strategies and remediation plans
    • Research new opportunities for income and cost savings pertaining to immovable property assets
    • Liaise with various stakeholders by providing effective administration and property advice

    Assistant Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • B Tech or first degree
    • Up to 2 years’ relevant experience in Municipal Civil Engineering Infrastructure
    • Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects. CAD and modelling packages.
    • Willingness to travel within the City of Cape Town if required • A valid driver’s license.

    Facility Officer

    Requirements

    •  Grade 12 An under graduate qualification will be an advantage
    • Up to 3 years’ relevant experience - Valid code EB Drivers Licence
    •  Physically fit and ability to swim
    • Work hours determined by City of Cape Town work-schedule rules and include weekends, public holidays
    •  Experience in swimming pool facility and water-filtration management will be a strong advantage

    Key Performance Areas

    • Coordinates and monitors programmes, implements the objectives of the department, facilitates effective functioning and meet the standards laid down
    • Ensures the management of daily operations by implementing work methods and procedures necessary for day to day activities of recreation programmes / events / projects - Implements weekly work schedules necessary for operational requirements

    Senior Professional Officer - Valuations

    Requirements

    •  A first degree in Property Studies / BTech in Real Estate/Property Valuation.
    •  Minimum 5-8 years’ relevant experience including 4-5 years’ appropriate property valuation experience.
    •  Be registered as per section 20 (2) (a) of the Property Valuers Act, 2000 as a Professional Valuer or Professional Associate Valuer without restrictions
    •  Computer literacy (MS Office packages).
    •  Valid driver’s license.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Provide market valuations of immovable properties including rights in immovable properties.
    • Perform market valuations of all types of properties for purposes of acquisition, disposal and rental.
    •  Conducting physical site inspections.
    •  Compiling well analysed, comprehensive and fully motivated valuation reports.
    •  Ensuring the correct application of complex valuation techniques.
    •  Providing the City of Cape Town with in depth investigation of the highest and best use of immovable properties and rights in immovable properties.
    • Advise the City of Cape Town as an expert in the event of litigation regarding valuations undertaken within the department.
    • Correspond and conduct negotiations regarding acquisition, disposal, and rental valuations including the scrutiny and analysis of actual financial loss claims resulting from expropriation/acquisition of property or rights in property.

    Artisan (Construction)

    Requirements

    • Plumbing Trade Test certificate in accordance with S26D of the Skills Development Act, Act 97 of 1998. (Red seal)
    • Up to two (2) years’ post-apprenticeship experience
    •  Valid Code C1 driver’s license and PrDP will be advantageous
    • SAP literacy will be advantageous
    • Knowledge of reticulation networks and plumbing/ construction processes as well as Occupational Health and afety Act
    • Physically fit and able-bodied - Ability to lift heavy manhole covers, carry heavy equipment and fit into confined spaces
    • Required to work in all weather conditions
    • Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies, perform standby duties and planned over.
    • Willingness to enter confined areas

    Key Performance Areas

    • Planned and predictive maintenance to ensure that maintenance cycles and work procedures are implemented
    •  Fault-finding to ensure faults are detected, effectively repaired and functionality restored with minimal disruption to services 
    • Supervision and administration to ensure that tasks, instructions and findings are coordinated, communicated and understood
    • Capturing information to ensure details of activities are accurately recorded
    •  Ensuring a safe work environment through the application of health and safety regulations
