    Senior Manager Mining

    Short Description / Purpose of Job:

    • Lead all aspects of the processes to develop and implement category strategies, manage relationships with suppliers and execute sourcing events for the Mining category.
    • Ensure an optimal balance of supply and demand for materials and services and realize Total Cost of Ownership benefits within the category.
    • Proactively manage key contractual risks within the category portfolio.
    • This is a highly specialised role with the second highest spend in Procurement. Specialised focus on all Sasol Mining operations.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities:

    • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the category in order to realise increased business value for Sasol by leveraging external spend, through a total cost of ownership reduction approach.
    • Develop and implement a functional strategy for the category team.
    • Continuously monitor and analyse the internal and external environments to identify opportunities and threats impacting Sasol's category sourcing strategies and contracts; adapt, continuously improve and update sourcing strategies and contracts to mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities.
    • Analyse the stakeholder landscape and proactively manage relationships to ensure support for and participation in processes to develop and implement sourcing strategies and contracts.
    • Manage the translation of sourcing strategies into contract terms and conditions to increase business value.
    • Lead and oversee the preparation, negotiation and administration all contracts within the portfolio in accordance with Sasol policies and legal requirements.
    • Lead and execute all aspects related to the establishment and management of contracts for a portfolio of contracts in the category, including contract negotiations, review and lifecycle management.
    • Categorise and manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
    • Drive transformation and BBBEE improvement in Sasol's external spend by identifying and implementing preferential procurement and supplier localisation opportunities.
    • Drive procurement efficiency improvement and risk reduction by implementing effective methods to maximise 'on contract' and automated spend within the category.
    • Manage talent within the category in accordance with Sasol policies and procedures, including regular personal development and performance management discussions and reviews with team members.
    • Ensure robust contract management and review; ensure that contracts in own category meet minimum Sasol standards and requirements.

    Formal Education:

    • Four years Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B Engineering/B Tech in Engineering)
    • A commercial qualification/ Master’s in Business Administration / Master’s in Business Leadership will be an added advantage

    Min Experience:

    • 12+ relevant years.
    • Extensive experience in engineering, procurement or commercial roles a must.

    Senior Project Manager :Green NH3 Production

    Short Description / Purpose of Job

    • The Senior Manager Projects is responsible for project management, engineering management and construction planning support, as well as coordinating all Sasol internal activities during front end loading and execution for Green H2 projects within Global Market H2 Development.
    • The Senior Manager Projects will be responsible for delivering within cost, schedule and quality all deliverables associated with a particular Work Package. The role includes leading a multi-discipline team within a matrix structure, delivering outputs through Engineering Contractors and Consultants as well stakeholder engagements with communities, NGO’s and provincial and government bodies.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    Key accountabilities for the role include:

    • Leading the designated Work Package within the Global Market H2 Development function.
    • Developing and agreeing project support and assurance plans.
    • Aligning plans and quality requirements.
    • Coordinating all Sasol internal project activities from gate 1 to gate 7.
    • Overseeing project execution by others.
    • Leveraging lessons learnt and international best practices to provide input and optimization of project execution plans and methodologies.
    • Support and liaison with internal business partners, equity partners, licensees, other licensors, as well as engineering and construction contractors.
    • Drive the development and implementation of systems and tools to continuously improve the execution of Sasol internal activities.

    Formal Education

    Min Experience

    • 12 or more years relevant experience
    • Petrochemical capital projects (green fields development), with knowledge in the disciplines of Engineering Management and Project Management across full project life cycle and particular in front end loading.
    • Knowledge base related to other engineering disciplines, procurement and contracting, construction, safety, risk management, quality management and project controls.
    • Good understanding of the power to liquids and similar value chain flowsheets
    • External partner relationship building and management

    Principal Specialist Electrical Engineering

    Short Description / Purpose of Job

    • The Principal Specialist Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading the Electrical engineering team and producing the required deliverables during the front-end loading phase of Hydrogen & other “Green Energy” projects. The incumbent is also responsible for assurance definition and implementation as well as achievement of performance goals of direct and indirect reports.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Accountable for all Electrical Engineering deliverables during front end loading.
    • Provide input concerning best practices and lessons learnt.
    • Generate value add from the implementation of lessons learnt.
    • Support Project Management with regards to Engineering track in gate readiness and project quality reviews.
    • Provide input into project execution strategies, including contracting and selection of suppliers.
    • Define and implement Electrical Engineering quality assurance standards to uphold the highest local and international standards.
    • Conduct quality assurance reviews to guide engineers and ensure compliance to set standards.
    • Review deviations from Electrical standards for approval, when necessary.
    • Review overall project quality goals for Electrical Engineering on projects and monitor quality progress of deliverables.
    • Embed quality assurance systems for vendor selection, technology selection, technical specification reviews, technical bid analyses, client design reviews, punching and End of Job documentation.
    • Participate in stage gate reviews.
    • Measure and report on Electrical Engineering performance on projects.
    • Ensure that third party QC Inspection processes are in place and followed.
    • Compile and manage incident reporting on projects, following the conduct of RCA and implementation of corrective plans.
    • Provide Electrical Engineering expert input into the content of the apprenticeship model.
    • Act as an expert consultant on Electrical Engineering topics group wide.
    • Assist in the selection of external service providers by measuring technical competence.
    • Examine and leverage practical Electrical Engineering specific assets in and around Sasol, for the rest of Sasol.
    • Develop ability to measure and report on Electrical Engineering performance on projects.
    • Provide expert knowledge in projects' engineering quality management plans and provide expert inputs into- and guidance to capital projects.
    • Set competence criteria for Electrical Engineers at different levels.
    • Coach, mentor and guide engineers.
    • Establish and track team metrics and goals to achieve quality outcomes.
    • Manage collaboration with cross-functional project teams to ensure project success.
