    Portfolio Accountant Life

    Role Purpose    

    • Accurately control and process financial information and prepare financial reports and analysis to enable business processes.

    Requirements    

    • Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting
    • Degree in Financial Management or Accounting (preferred)
    • At least 3-5 years’ experience in insurance accounting (with degree)
    • At least 5–10 years’ experience in insurance accounting (without degree)

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Management of the accounting function for Guardrisk Life cell captive & contingency policy clients (by portfolio of clients allocated)
    • Accurately, efficiently and timely capturing and reporting of transactions of their portfolio of client
    • Review and /or prepare payments documents and obtain the necessary source documentation and authorisation to effect payments timely and with the determined service level agreement levels
    • Review and approve the general ledger journal allocations based on levels of authority and policy
    • Review all documentation to ensure that the correct level of authority has authorised the document and raise any exceptions with the relevant stakeholder
    • Prepare and review financial transactions and reporting of each client within their portfolio of clients
    • Prepare payment documentation relating to portfolio of clients
    • Compile and prepare monthly and year end reconciliations of their portfolio of clients
    • Identify and report respective accounting or reporting issues
    • Investigate and resolve any outstanding queries in relation to accounting issues
    • Portfolio support and management/servicing by working closely with the portfolio manager and other colleagues
    • Identify and resolve problem sources or escalate to relevant level of authority
    • Special Projects assigned with the group
    • Meeting company and client accounting, payment and reporting deadlines
    • Contribute to the enhancement of systems and processes issues in order to enhance financial management
    • Continuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge

    Business Analyst

    Role Purpose    

    • Conduct analysis of business needs to provide software application solutions focused on delivering business value. Together with a range of business, technical, and technology stakeholders, you will help design and implement innovative solutions to meet business objectives. You are responsible for working with multiple stakeholder groups across the organization to identify, investigate and analyze challenges faced by the enterprise.     Professional Nurse: Case Manager

    Role Purpose    

    • To assist in the enhancement and management of a cost-effective managed health care with the objective of promoting rational utilisation of health care facilities and containing associated costs generated by these services.

    Requirements    

    • National Senior Certificate is essential
    • It is essential to have a Nursing Diploma or Degree
    • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience within a private hospital
    • The incumbent must be registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council) as a Registered Nurse
    • Good understanding of the medical aid industry i.e. trends, competitors, legislation is essential
    • Knowledge of Clinical coding; ICD, NRPL and CPT is essential
    • Minimum of 1 years experience in a managed care environment / case management would be an advantage
    • MS Office proficiency 
    • Language proficiency in at least 2 South African official languages

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Review of in-hospital patients for appropriateness of care and length of stay.
    • Liaise with the service provider on the clinical update. 
    • Discharge planning for in-hospital patients to ensure ongoing support and care post discharge.
    • Communicate with the medical advisor on complex cases.
    • Drive patient advocacy by coordinating in and post-hospital care where necessary.
    • Educate and guide all members regarding health care and their benefits.
    • Develop, implement and communicate the practice and/or the clinical guidelines for cost effective care.
    • Authorise appropriate and cost-effective surgical care and treatment.
    • Ensure the consistent and correct application of exclusions.
    • Adhere to policies and procedures and take corrective action where necessary.
    • Adhere to organisational best practice and legislative requirements.
    • Take ownership of escalated and unresolved queries and ensure they are resolved timeously.
    • Manage the problem until resolution and update the incident details.
