    Treasury Accountant

    Job Description
    Join Lactalis at our site in the Western Cape and take on the challenge of a Treasury Accountant. The primary purpose of the role is to provide treasury management of the Lactalis Southern Africa and Australe Africa businesses (Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia and Eswatini), and also support the statutory accounting and tax departments. The end result is to drive the Lactalis Southern Africa and African business objectives while supporting accurate and timeous financial reporting and financial governance.

    Required Skills 

    • Bcom or similar
    •  At least 5 years’ experience in a financial function, preferably in a corporate environment within FMCG.
    •  A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills
    •  Results driven, business acumen and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills
    •  Accuracy and attention to detail
    •  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    •  Advanced MS Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint)
    •  Portuguese speaking will be an advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Treasury

    •  Daily cash management for all countries, including reconciliation and forecasting
    •  Management of investment decisions for countries with surplus cash with a view to optimise across African countries
    •  Management of cash pooling process and reporting requirements
    •  Management of finance costs across countries
    •  Management of current loan payables/ receivables within the group
    •  Management of foreign exposure and hedging implementation where required
    •  Management of diapason (treasury system)
    •  Standardisation of treasury processes across countries
    •  Backup releasing of payments 

    Reporting

    •  Intercompany reconciliations, monthly reporting and confirmations
    •  Sundry invoicing – divisional and across Australe Africa
    •  Assist with the AFS preparation
    •  Involvement in interim and final external audit process
    •  HFM reporting assistance 

    Ad hoc

    •  Assistance with streamlining the shared service environment
    •  Necessary support as and when required to the group financial manager on key activities
    •  Project management

    Finance Accountant

    Job Description

    • Join Lactalis at our site in the Western Cape and take on the challenge of a Finance Accountant.  The purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the Lactalis business within the statutory accounting, treasury, and tax department. The end result is to drive the Lactalis business objectives while supporting accurate and timeous financial reporting and financial governance.

    Required Skills

    •  BCom Accounting Degree or similar
    •  At least 1 to 2 years post qualification experience in a financial function, preferably in a corporate environment within FMCG.
    •  A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills
    •  Result driven, business acumen and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills
    •  Accuracy and attention to detail
    •  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    •  Advanced MS Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint)

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Import payments

    •  Compiling and processing of foreign invoices
    •  Preparation of documentation for foreign payments, including bank submission
    •  Liaison with plants to ensure timeous receipting and processing of invoices
    •  Maintenance of payment terms
    •  Monitoring of translation rates in line with Inco terms
    • Accounting
    •  Weekly balancing of plant loan accounts, including follow up and query resolution
    •  Involvement in the month end process, including journal preparation and approval
    •  Reconciliation of the head office and DC auto accrual accounts and follow up
    •  Balance sheet reconciliations for selected accounts
    •  Maintenance of lease contract information in line with accounting and group standards

    Reporting

    •  Assistance with month end reporting: HFM

    Production Accountant

    Job Description
    Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Admin department with the main responsibilities to give accurate reporting of production/management accounting information with a strong focus on costing. Analyzing and reporting the daily, monthly results will be important in order to support and development of the Business Unit.  Successful candidates need to have at least 3 years' relevant experience within FMCG environment.  Must adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation.  Be fluent in English and be computer literate with sound knowledge in excel.

    Required Skills

    • Formal Accounting Qualification or equivalent
    • Must have 3 years financial experiences working in a FMCG environment
    • Develop partnership roles with Plant Manager/ Production Managers/Controllers/ Financial Manager
    • To have presentation skills
    • Must be a self-motivator with good planning, organising and admin skills
    • Able to work independently and must have strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills
    • Must be accurate and pay attention to detail
    • Must be a good communicator
    • Computer literate in MS Office (Excel advanced skills)
    • Willing to work long hours, shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Analysing daily, monthly and yearly results of production
    • Monthly reporting and annual budgeting
    • Compiling and providing explanations on weekly KPI Reports, understanding how departments are tracking on KPI’s
    • Training of Staff on inventory system and reports
    • Assisting with GMP reports and material loss tracking
    • Driving continuous improvement and accuracy of information
    • Focus on accurate routings and costing of products within BPCS, updating BOM’s
    • Support Production Managers by providing information and assisting production clerks with any capturing/system problems
    • Ad-hoc financial & reporting tasks
    • Ensure that effective internal control procedures are in place on all financial functions or cycles (i.e. stock, assets and other)
    • Assist in supplying accurate information to optimise recipes
    • Improvement and actions plans to be implemented
    • Compile the yearly budget as well as the LSA Forecast when necessary.
    • Assist the production manager by engaging with the department so that they understand targets
    • Analyse production results on a continuous basis with the aim to meet or better the goals on quality, quantity, yield and grading.
    • Ensure that set departmental goals and KPI’s are known to your team through daily and monthly meetings.
