    Supervisor Commodity Contracting

    Job Summary

    The Supervisor Commodity Contracting is accountable for maintaining requisite commodity sourcing as directed and to maintain the related sourcing contracts to the required operational specifications and governance standards, whilst maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 qualification or equivalent
    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • At least 5 years’ procurement experience of which 3 years must have been within a mining environment
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position
    • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

    • Proven safety leadership track record
    • Proven track record in effective negotiating and contracting skills
    • Working knowledge of commercial processes and application of best practices within tender and contracting compliance and management
    • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships through ongoing engagement and collaboration

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards
    • Enable efficient service delivery to Gold Field’s internal and external stakeholders
    • Identify and secure balanced price and quality procurement opportunities and ensure the continuity and security of supply
    • Manage and coordinate direct procurement requirements and execute in accordance with Gold Fields’ policies and procedures
    • Manage contract suppliers/vendors in accordance with agreed SLAs ensuring optimised delivery to the business
    • Coordinate commercial processes, including tenders, contract negotiations, scope changes, price adjustments and related contract administration requests
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Participate in the audit of procurement process and remedy findings to ensure best practice and mitigate risk

    Storeperson

    Job Summary 

    The incumbent is responsible for daily routine store administrative activities covering the receipt, issuing and inventory control of Engineering components, lifting equipment and power tools

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Have at least 2 years’ administrative or related experience in a similar environment
    • Relevant knowledge and an understanding of lifting equipment and power tool inventory management
    • A valid Forklift Driver’s license and, a valid Overhead Crane license
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

    Key Competencies:

    • Track record of personal safety accountability
    • Sound interpersonal, collaborative and English communication skills with ability to work with teams
    • Excellent time management
    • Relevant knowledge and understanding of scaffolding and working on heights (Storing, Inspection, Erecting and Issuing of Safety harnesses)
    • Relevant knowledge and understanding of operational load test tagging system
    • Proficient in maintenance, storage, issuing and recording of lifting equipment inventories

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in sectional safety campaigns
    • Participate in and contribute towards set housekeeping standards
    • Monitor and document the issuing and receipt of equipment
    • Ensure the availability of equipment for inspections and load testing
    • Assist with the loading and off-loading of materials
    • Inspect all equipment upon issuing/receipt and remove equipment that do not comply with set standards
    • Report any defective equipment and ensure appropriate record keeping according to prescribed equipment inventory
