    Senior Manager - Program and Business Management Enterprise Business Unit

    Job Description

    This role ensures smooth functioning of the enterprise business and manages the overall Enterprise business landscape and oversee key relationships with other MTN stakeholders. This includes:

    • Driving the operating model development for MTN SA Enterprise, driving implementation, consolidation of strategic initiatives, and facilitating effective implementation of Enterprise organisations projects.
    • Efficient and timely reporting from the CEBO office to MTN SA stakeholders, MTN Group, and MTN SA Board.
    • Assisting with governance and New Ways of Working between the Enterprise and support teams.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Oversee the alignment of Enterprise Office strategy and MTNSA strategy which includes operating systems, procedures and processes.
    • Drive strategy implementation across all the departments within Enterprise Department
    • Integrate and drive synergies on business streams and fostering alignment to and governance requirements among the different departments.
    • Provide inputs into the operation matrices within the business to achieve optimal performance.
    • Align operational needs of the department to external economic and commercial environment for sustainability.
    • Drive effective change management supporting strategy implementation
    • Define method for strategic project measurement and defines targets and metrics and drives the operating model development for MTN SA Enterprise.

    Business Management

    • Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of customer-facing strategic projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget
    • Collaborates with EBU leadership to agree on EBU growth goals
    • Identifies and tracks initiatives to reach growth goals
    • Leads business model transformation strategies to keep EBU evolving with changing client and industry needs. This includes driving effective change management supporting operational execution

    • Confirms strategic initiatives and communicates these with teams responsible for roll-out and execution.
    • Reports on strategy execution to EBU and business leaders

    • Closely tracks and monitors KPIs across the enterprise business

    • Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and Chief Risk Officer, regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning

    Operational Delivery and Reporting

    • Oversee the consolidated business performance reporting for all business units
    • Co-ordinate and Quality review of business performance reporting to MTN Group, MTN SA EXCO and MTN SA Board
    • Prepare Risk Office packs for reporting to MTN Group, MTN EXCO and MTN SA Board as and when required
    • Coordinate all supporting functions to enable operational delivery on the Risk Business Unit’s strategic objectives

    General Manager - Indirect Channels Enterprise Business Unit

    Job Description

    • To lead MTN SA’s indirect and direct channels  strategies including account management operations, transforming the business into the premier solutions partner for SMEs in South Africa.
    • To lead the MTN SA Enterprise business indirect channel development and optimisation across indirect and direct sales segments with dedicated account managers and verticals namely, large enterprise and public sector with a regional focus.
    • Drive sales growth, market share expansion, and client satisfaction through the development and optimisation of indirect sales channels, including the integration of direct sales and account management functions.
    • Build and own relationships with priority clients and industry leaders especially for specific industries.

    Responsibilities
    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Lead the development and implementation of the overall Mobile and Fixed Products and Solutions and go-to-market strategy in alignment with MTN SA Enterprise and Corporate Strategy. This covers conception through to implementation of the Product, Capability and Solutions, Sales Performance and Project Delivery.
    • Lead the growth strategy and set sales targets to achieve ambition in line with Converged Solutions, overseeing the sales team for fixed and converged offerings.
    • Lead the implementation of yearly plans in line with the overarching function’s business goals and strategy. This includes setting collective goals and objectives, integrating the Group and MTNSA strategy and direction.
    • Ensure effective implementation of strategy within own team and portfolio by means of providing direction, and best-in-class methodologies, frameworks, models and roadmaps.

    Financial Leadership and Cost Control

    • Manage the budget by taking full responsibility for the overall Profit and Loss (P&L) of the function and strive to deliver a comprehensive financial forecast with defined bi-annual, annual and multi-year milestones.
    • Guide and support product development and sales by placing the correct talent in the correct roles to ensure optimal end-to-end delivery of the budgetary and sales forecast targets and milestones.
    • Forecast, plan, develop and review the budget for own team and secure the necessary approvals.

This likely involves working with cross-functional teams including CS, TFLS, External Partners  marketing, and sales segment teams as well as leveraging MTN's telecom infrastructure to develop and implement innovative new Products.
    • Lead a cross-functional team in the prioritization and planning of product roadmaps and major product releases. Use high judgement to make critical trade-offs, balancing both business requirements and technological trade-offs.
    • Effectively prioritise and manage the scope of each product launch to deliver key capabilities on time and on budget.

    • Lead and ignite a team to ensure existing fixed and converged products remain competitive and meet customer needs. This may involve tasks like pricing strategy, product roadmaps, and feature development.
    • Define and drive the execution of projects by tracking and monitoring the delivery of project milestones to ensure smooth, efficient and optimal delivery of projects, in line with client expectations.
    • In collaboration with team, monitor and analyze the financial performance of the fixed and converged portfolio to ensure it meets profitability goals. This may involve managing costs, pricing strategy, and forecasting revenue.
    • Ensure customers have a positive journey throughout their interactions with our fixed-line and converged services. Drive higher customer satisfaction, reduced churn, and ultimately, increased profitability for the business.
    • Monitor key Products performance metrics to ensure optimum performance and identify improvement opportunities. Highlight significant deviations from defined performance targets and metrics and consolidate recovery plans, ensuring proactive management of issues and risks.

    Governance, Policies and Procedures

    • Develop and supervise the implementation of functional policies, standard operating procedures and best practices that ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, security, integrity and compliance with relevant laws and regulations across OpCo’s.
    • Ensure effective implementation of (and compliance towards) company policies, processes, and procedures. Put effective methods and standards in place in alignment with aforementioned.
    • Identify and manage partners, and ensure all contracts are managed in line with procurement policies and standards in order to drive compliance to set processes and procedures.
    • Manage and provide solutions to escalations that have multiple processes / functions impact on critical path of service delivery
    • Continuously review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Manage and engage with the relevant internal business units, when and as required, to obtain optimal support to complete relevant  processes and developments.
    • Engage with other members in the MTN leadership function to gain appropriate buy-in to enhance the P&C function, creating opportunity to expand and optimise the function even further.
    • Develop partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the P&C function as well as the larger ICT organisational function, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
    • Engage with the Legal, Finance and Risk Departments within MTN to understand the regulatory requirements when developing products and services, to ensure appropriate compliance across jurisdictions.

    People Leadership /Management

    • Set integrated goals and objectives for the team in order to achieve a future-focused, future-fit high-performing organisation.
    • Provide technical, procedural and policy guidance to staff, colleagues , partners and vendors.
    • Attract, develop and retain appropriate talent. Build talent by identifying and developing new leaders for the respective environment
    • Create and implement personal development plans.
    • Define the KPAs and KPIs that will be cascaded down to each area.
    • Manage Performance and identify training needs. Coach and guide subordinates.
    • Enable and model healthy employee relations and collaborative teamwork.
    • Manage diversity, develop, and embed an Employment Equity plan for the business area.
    • Contribute to building a culture  of continuous evaluation and improvement. Drive a culture of high performance, accountability and consequence management

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 4-year Engineering, Business Administration,  qualification or related
    • Masters/ MBA  degree preferred
    • 10 Years Experience including:
    • Minimum 5 years of Senior Management Experience
    • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Proven track record of success in a product management or general management role within the telecommunications industry, preferably with experience in fixed-line and/or converged solutions.
    • Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams.
    • Project Management Experience
    • Understanding emerging markets advantageous
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
