    Sales Representative

    Duties would include:

    • Selling and promoting a defined range of books every month
    • Achieving sales targets
    • Maintaining good relations with all customers
    • Ensuring that our books are appropriately stocked and well displayed in retail outlets, including backlist
    • Attending some after-hours book launches, festivals and events.
    • Continual building of book knowledge
    • Compiling monthly sales reports
    • Representing the company in a positive way to customers

    Job Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills in English, both written & verbal
    • Ability to foster good relations with bookshops and colleagues
    • Strong interpersonal, organisational and admin skills
    • Presentation and selling skills
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Detail orientated, with creative and critical thinking skills
    • Adept in problem solving and multitasking
    • Must be enthusiastic, motivated, pro-active and able to work independently
    • Sales experience and negotiation skills
    • A knowledge of and broad interest in commercial and literary publishing
    • Experience in book retail would be an advantage
    • A matric certificate
    • A relevant qualification is preferred
    • A passion for literature
    • A valid code 08 driver’s license and be available for travel
    • Computer literacy is necessary, especially Microsoft Excel

    Roaming Merchandiser - Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Daily reports - minimising sell-outs
    • Ensure that proper levels of stock are maintained, and that the merchandise is displayed appropriately and favourable shelf placement.
    • Monitor sales volumes, inspect inventory levels, and maintain in-store promotional materials throughout promotional periods
    • Ensure all products are visible to the customers
    • Perform audits regularly, and resolve issues that may arise as a result of these audits
    • Handle queries
    • Ensure that promotional products are in the right place at the right time, and in the proper quantity and quality
    • Ensure all products are available at all times
    • Provide service and maintain good working relationships with retailers in order to help both the retailer and the division maximise sales and increase sales volumes
    • Solve problems at the store level in order to maintain the standards established in the initial sales agreement
    • Ensuring logistical procedures as per SOP completed
    • General administrative duties and ensure that deadlines are met
