- This role reports into the Inport Technical Support Lead.
- The incumbent will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the planning and scheduling of the Scopes of Work executed by the In-port Shutdown Team to ensure effective management of projects.
Your role will include:
Financial Effectiveness
- Participate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures
Project Planning Effectiveness
- Create schedules according to Engineering and Projects Scopes of Works and the Work List Database
- Integrates the schedule to identify the critical path and identify time opportunity and discuss them with the relevant Engineering Officers
- Management of complex EPC and EPCM project schedules
- Facilitate meetings with Engineering Officers and Project Engineers prior to Projects to finalize schedule.
- Identify and communicate clashes in terms of work execution in the Project Plan
- Capture any new discovery work that is loaded in the Works List Database and update Project plan throughout the project lifecycle
Effective stakeholder management
- Maintain cause and effect records in liaison with strategic stakeholders
- Manage progress reporting against the schedule using earned value management techniques
- Recommends delivery and sequencing strategies to key stakeholders with the overall aim of de-risking the schedule
Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Effectiveness
- Manage adherence to and promote applicable legislation, company safety, security and environmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
Client Relationships
- Build relationships across the De Beers Pipeline and with project stakeholders through continual interaction and service excellence.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commerce or NQFL7 equivalent
- Qualification in Project Planning and Project Management – PMI-SP or PMI-PMP would be advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a planning and scheduling environment with at least 5 years’ experience in Marine Mining Industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suit
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (EVM templates, Pivot tables)
- Advanced knowledge of Project Planning software – Primavera P6, MS Projects and Synchro Pro 4D
