    Senior Technologist: Cytology - Ampath House Apath Lab (Bloemfontein)

    Purpose of Position:

    • To screen slides and prepare cytology specimens and to oversee daily operation and Quality Control in the Cytology laboratory.

    Requirements:

    Lab Manager: NRL Microbiology - Centurion

    Purpose of Position:

    • Responsible for the performance of the NRL Microbiology department; managing the processes, operations and personnel to ensure operational goals are met and high-quality standards are maintained.

    Requirements:

    • HPCSA registration (Microbiology / Clinical pathology)  (Required), Management qualification  (Required), National Diploma in Medical Technology / Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Laboratory Sciences. (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • 5 or more years middle to senior management experience with proven success in managing operational efficiency, budgets, processes and people., 5 years general medical technology experience., Knowledge and understanding of people management practices (including  training, motivating, and directing employees) to optimise workplace  productivity and promote professional growth., Knowledge of accreditation processes and procedures., Knowledge of HPCSA regulations, Knowledge of MS Office, Knowledge of OSH Act., Working knowledge of BCEA and LRA

    Key Responsibilities:

    • HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field  (Required), National Diploma Biomedical Technology / Bachelor of Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Science  (Required), On-the-job training qualification (Unit Standard aligned), Train-the-trainer or equivalent

    Required Experience:

    • 1-2 years training experience within a Clinpath laboratory environment, 4-5 years’ experience as a Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist within a pathology laboratory environment, Experience in Supervisory or Management training, Knowledge: GCP/GLP requirements, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Word and MS Excel, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), Knowledge: Quality Control, Knowledge of relevant Technicon syllabus, Subject matter expertise with regards to laboratory procedures and instruments
