    National Sales Manager Enabling Technology

    The Enabling Technologies National Sales Manager is responsible for creating and identifying business opportunities throughout South Africa, for our key technology Mako, ARIO CT, Navigation and other key technological platforms. This role is key to the long-term growth of our Implant business, collaborating with our indirect partners will be crucial in this role.

    Key Activities & Accountabilities

    • Develop a strong business plan for the region
    • Manage the National Mako Manager , ensure they are engaged and driven to achieve the aligned goals of Stryker South Africa.
    • Create and review SOP’s for Mako Product Specialists core activities.
    • Align with the Business Solutions Manager to enable strategic key account focus and growth.
    • Be commercially aware and monitor the market and gather competitive intelligence on new products, competitive strategies, industry tactics, and opportunities for business growth
    • Maintain annual strategic plans, gather sales intelligence for tactical decision making.  Ensure accurate sales forecasts for both short and long term
    • To implement successful product introductions in the region as defined by the Global and Regional marketing strategy
    • To develop the annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the General Manager and ensure budgets and expense targets are adhered to accordingly
    • To maintain regular high-level personal contact with the direct contacts as well as purchasing staff in established and potential centres to understand their specific needs and therefore develop value added programmes for the clinic which are differentiated to the competition
    • To monitor business performance against budget and to undertake corrective action where necessary
    • Continually up-date the knowledge of our product portfolio and product features as well as the understanding of the business and the market complexities in which we operate
    • Attend Product / Technical Training as relevant
    • To be aware of and to support continuously the development and implementation of the company compliance & quality system

    Education

    • BSc Life sciences, pharmaceutical or business degree desirable

    Experience

    • Solid experience working for a medical device business with proven career progression.
    • In excess of 5 years, direct selling experience required, preferable in the medical device industry; with a good knowledge of opinion leaders and of the main products and competitors;
    • A good understanding of P&L, and working knowledge of how to maximise profits, for Stryker
    • This manager needs to be out and about, with high visibility and impact, living and breathing all Stryker’s values to customers and employees alike.
    • Proven experience in delivering excellence in market share growth and financial commitments.
    • Experience in executing on the marketing plan within budget constraints
    • Demonstrated success in building, managing, motivating and developing strong sales. This includes acumen in setting sales coverage and leveraging territory coverage and customer focus
    • Demonstrated ability to build engagement and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives; includes goal setting, performance planning and monitoring, coaching, feedback and performance review
    • Proven competence in Microsoft office applications
    • Strong commercial/financial acumen; including demonstrated record of overachieving organizational goals (e.g., sales quota, growth quota, sales, P&L, engagement)
    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills & teamwork.

    Clinical Support Specialist

    The Job's Mission

    The Stryker Clinical Support Specialist responsibilities include directly supporting all Stryker products associated with Joint Replacement procedures. This role within Stryker UK will focus on servicing and supporting our clinical customers to strive for best in class specialist support with procedural excellence.

    Additional responsibilities include working with the local sales team to coordinate training and events and managing day to day requirements of business support, ensuring Stryker delivers exceptional levels of service to our broad range of customers.

    Key Activities & Accountabilities

    • Servicing existing and new customer base within the theatre and clinical environment
    • Providing theatre and wider HCP staff with in depth training on Stryker products
    • Working closely with other team members within the defined region, and the regional Sales Manager, to ensure customer service levels are best in class. 
    • Auditing theatre Stryker stock (implants, disposables and instruments), managing consignment inventory and ensuring good asset management practice
    • Understanding the clinical application of the broader Stryker business to offer customers the best possible solution at all times
    • Conducting trials and evaluations of products in both theatre and the clinical environment as and when required
    • Additional responsibilities as directed by RSM (Regional Sales Manager).
    • Implementation of training, provision of instruments and implementation of new Stryker business
    • Plan, execute and monitor all measures necessary to help achieve industry leading support. Service and provide customer care for physicians, surgical theatre staff, and hospital administration and sterilisation departments. This will include working within a theatre and clinical environment.
    • Demonstrates excellent product knowledge and professionalism with workshop
    • Provides theatre and other HCP staff training on Stryker products.  This could include organizing and conducting training workshops and events for a broad customer group.
    • Reports to the Regional Sales Manager to ensure customer service levels are best in class. 
    • Communicates essential features and benefits of products and their clinical application.
    • Demonstrates outstanding ethics at all times. Treat customers and other employees with respect and represents Stryker in the best possible light.
    • Auditing theatre and hospital stock (implants, disposables and instruments) – managing consignment levels and ensuring good asset management and stock rotation.
    • Behaves with integrity, delivers on commitments within required timescales.
    • Understands the clinical application of the broader Stryker portfolio to offer our customers an understanding of our wider product range.
    • Conducts trials and evaluations of product in theatre and clinical environment as required.
    • Makes observations of customer needs and liaise with sales colleagues to follow up on and introduce new or additional Stryker product and/or support.
    • Maintains a basic business plan highlighting daily, weekly and monthly objectives.
    • Develops an understanding of the local healthcare environment and Regional strategy
    • Additional responsibilities as directed by RSM (Regional Sales Manager).

    Education

    Certified Theatre Practitioner or ODA, professional training in a medical environment preferred. Industry background also advantageous.

    Experience

    • Theatre experience essential. Minimum 2 years’ experience within a theatre environment
    • Commercial knowledge and an understanding of cost pressures surrounding theatres and surgical procedures is important
    • Computer skills, MS Office.
    • Presentation skills with modern presentation media
    • Workshop/product demonstration skills including anatomy and physiology knowledge base
