    Project Manager - JHB

    Role overview:

    Our client is looking for a Computer Science Graduate or a Junior Project Administrator to fulfil the role of a Project Manager within the IT space. Training will be provided, as our client is looking for a go-getter, ready to take on the role of a Project Manager. They are looking for someone who has either studied IT / Computer Science and has an interest to grow within the IT Project Management space, or for someone who has a solid education background in Project Management, with a proven interest or knowledge in IT.

    Responsibilities:

    • Project Management:

    Analyst Developer: Bancs

    Purpose: 
    To be responsible for project design, development, implementation and maintenance of java based initiatives on the Bancs platform.

    • Focus on integration and new solutions, scaling and integration points; achieving the design, including breaking down the technical work packets and building the architecture.
    • Obtain technical knowledge related to the Back-End (BANCS) development environments and platform architecture.
    • Independently create solution design documentation (technical specifications) from book of work initiatives and escalated investigations of bugs in Production

    Execute the design:

    • Understand the requirement (business need and purpose)
    • Understand the existing systems that will be affected by new requirements
    • Understand the impact on other systems (i.e. Front-End)
    • Set-up a functional description (FD)  handover/ technical specification (TS) high-level design meeting
    • Ensure the design is simple, easy maintainable, user orientated & user friendly, efficient and adhere to the Bank’s Enterprises design standards, tooling and methodologies.
    • Develop major performance efficient enhancements in the production environment according to the provided technical specifications.
    • Ensure the application of simplistic and effective Java code
    • Understand the impact of code: engage with Bancs Core technical and Business Analysts for specific scenarios to be tested & impact of code changes on other parts of the BANCS system
    • Develop new requirements for specific projects under leadership of Project Team Leader
    • Fix major and minor bugs in the Production environment
    • Fix escalated bugs for existing Back-End products in the Production environment
    • Conduct investigations based on requests  
    • Provide feedback to investigation requester and Team Leader of relevant Business Analyst
    • Perform unit and integration testing on existing environments and new developments
    • Provide testing assistance to developer(s)
    • Update / amend test plans according to solution development to ensure coverage of all areas
    • Provide implementation instructions for new development
    • Provide support to the Development / QA / Production environment(s)
    • Take and perform a lead role in projects
    • Design and develop new products for specific projects as per the book of work initiatives; unpack what exactly needs to be done at a technical level and break it down into work packets for the developer to complete

    Strategy Development and Planning

    • Develop the medium-term marketing objectives and strategy for the Group to build the brand and grow its customer base.
    • Construct and implement annual marketing plans and tactics in support of both the marketing and Group objectives, utilising the right positioning, mix of channels and marketing elements (events, advertising, digital marketing) to execute the strategy.

     
    Business and Financial Management

    • Develop B2B and B2C marketing plans in consultation with company business units.
    • Identify engagement channels and opportunities for various customer segments of the company (B2B and Retail).
    • Ensure implementation of the marketing strategy through departmental goal setting within the marketing division and tracking delivery against departmental plans.
    • Identify key priorities for the year for each department in the marketing team (marketing, brand, events, digital).
    • Develop campaigns and initiatives for brand building and marketing activations, working with agencies and internal clients.
    • Allocate people and financial resources adequately to support the marketing strategy and deliverables against plans.

    • Build capabilities within the marketing team to effectively deliver on key objectives and realize commercial value for the business.
    • Establish processes for measuring and evaluating marketing activities and team delivery.
    • Allocate work and organize department to maximize productivity and smooth day-to-day operations through process mapping, documenting workflows and job allocations.
    • Identify key risks and issues facing the department and develop mitigating management actions to address them.
    • Appoint agencies to support execution of strategic and tactical.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management

    • Ensure that results are delivered to other divisions by setting up service level agreements that establish expectations and standards, and track delivery against service level agreements.
    • Build working relationships with brand and marketing agencies to support marketing delivery and regularly engage on current developments in the industry.
    • Regular engagement with business unit managers to track delivery and implementation of marketing and events activity plans through formal structures.
    • Identify potential partnerships and sponsorship opportunities with other stakeholders to collaborate on and co-fund key marketing activities.
    • Build mutually beneficial relationships with other departmental heads by sharing ideas regularly and openly, facilitating collaborations and managing co-dependencies.

    Education

    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with marketing or social science related subjects
    • Preferred Qualification: Postgraduate degree or diploma in marketing or management.

    Previous Experience

    • 8-10 years marketing experience, including 4 years managerial experience. Business-to-business marketing experience is an advantage.
