    Distribution Administrator - Durban

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and people orientated Distribution Administrator within the baking business unit.
    • The suitable candidate will be required to support the Operations and Transport Manager in the administrative functions related to Logistics.
    • This role will be based in Durban and reporting to the Transport Manager.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Education

    • Matric
    • Tertiary qualification in supply chain advantageous

    Skills required

    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft Office
    • Good numeracy and attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal skills

    Experience

    • At least 2 year’s experience in administrative role

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Logistics

    • Oversee work of office clerk ensuring the following is done daily:
    • Pulls speeding reports per vehicle and alerts Transport Manager if any excessive deviations from policy
    • Completes daily kilometer report which includes all route information such as vehicle registration, driver on route, time in and out, mileage, crates etc
    • Records fuel usage and reconcile fuel bowser on site
    • Obtains dip reading from the pump attendant daily
    • Writes out fuel slips for vehicles the next day
    • Reconcile Gate Security sheet against dispatch loading sheet and report and report any discrepancies to distribution manager
    • Compile the truck wash record for review by Transport manager

    Camera audits

    • Reviews camera footage where there are discrepancies in auditor’s report
    • Report findings to Operations Manager
    • Review camera footage for other departments on management request

    General

    • Assist Operations Manager with administrative tasks such as managing the calendar, printing documents, filing etc
    • Completes any other work allocated by the Operations Manager and Transport Manager from time to time

    Channel Marketing Assistant - Westville

    RCL FOODS is seeking a skilled Channel Marketing Assistant to join our Customer Team in Westville. The role will be reporting to the Channel Marketing Manager and Channel Marketing Executive.

    • The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Channel Marketing Manager/Category Manager in driving the profitable growth of all RCL FOODS categories in your channels, turning data driven insight from sales and other data in the channel into motivating marketing mixes, that can efficiently be delivered by the sales teams, drive sales and consumption growth, direct the strategy of the development of the channel in line with company and category objectives, and align the category developments in product and promotion to the needs of your channel and vice versa. Provide support and data analysis that drives effective strategy formulation and tracking of measurable KPI’s. Providing informative information and reporting that enables operational tracking of performance that will in turn enable effective decision making. Produce reporting to be shared with key stakeholders and RCL operational teams that ensures maximum return on investment. Develop insights and assist in the implementation of outputs and insights through engaging with key stakeholders both internal and external.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum 2-10 years' experience in a Food Service function that includes managing brands or channels and market research function and vast knowledge of retail and wholesale FMCG sectors.
    • Matric with Math’s and a B.Com Degree or equivalent Diploma in Marketing.
    • Proficient and advanced in Excel, knowledge of data systems and good understanding of data analysis.
    • Must have experience in Power BI, Cube/Delta, PPT.
    • Good presentation skills & ability to host workshops and training sessions.
    • Understanding of activations and ability to brief an agency and conduct post evaluation feedback to the business.
    • Ability to work with front end team to strategize & execute a trade account.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategy Formulation:

    • National Strategy Formulation and Implementation.
    • Support the Channel Marketing Managers to formulate short- and long-term (3-year) Channel strategies to deliver sustainable, profitable growth by key customers in food service channels.
    • Liaise with National Account Managers to develop marketing tools required to drive accounts.
    • Ensure activities are aligned across plans, Category and Channel and with the key accounts.
    • Assist with the achievement of Channel SIA operational targets.
    • Operationalize and implement the marketing strategy in the marketplace and with the customer development team.
    • Engage in Cycle Planning process to convert Marketing Plans into action within the sales teams.
    • Assist with the brand building execution programme with the customer development teams.

    Reporting and Tracking:

    • Develop a core set of reliable data, ensuring it feeds decisions across the team and with route to market partners with focus on distribution, rate of sale and targets.
    • Monitor sales performance and delivery against targets. (Working with National, Regional Managers and National Account managers as required.) Including development of insights to answer “Why?” performance if positive or negative.
    • Analyse and track market, customer and channel trends and in-market measures at the customer and channel level, such as distribution, share, price, and merchandising performance.
    • Identify business implications and make recommendations.

    Customer Relationship Management:

    • Manage National Account Relationships.
    • Help deliver plans to grow Channel key accounts.
    • Analyze sales statistics and market trends to determine business growth potential.
    • Review key account performance, develop activity plans to improve growth.
    • Develop channel and customer specific activities, including promotions, POS, site training/briefing information, merchandising solutions and products that generate real sales growth.

    Marketing Management:

    • New product Development.
    • Work closely with Channel Marketing Managers and National Account Mangers and cross-functional teams on customized NPD projects.
    • Ensure all allocated launches have strong motivating marketing mixes and all essential education and training materials for the Internal (Sales Teams) and External Key Account and Outlet contacts.

    Marketing and Promotion:

    • Participate in the delivery of the Channel Plan with Channel Marketing Managers.
    • Run and assess trade promotions investment in the Foodservice channel to ensure maximum profitable growth.
    • Work with brand marketing and Customer management to develop suitable solutions for the Foodservice channel.

     

    Market and Customer Insight Maintenance:

    • Analyze and track market, customer and channel trends and in-market measures at the customer and channel level, such as distribution, share, price, and merchandising performance.

    Pricing Guidelines Management:

    • Track brand and competitive prices across customers as required.

    Financial Management:

    • Manage allocated parts of the Channel expenditure budget.
    • Ability to review this monthly with finance team.

    Job Description

    • RCL FOODS is seeking to employ an experienced Area Sales Manager for our Vector Logistics Division to implement appropriate solutions in the form of value propositions to meet or exceed all sales goals, performance quotas and process expectations in the assigned area.
    • RCL FOODS expects the suitable incumbent to provide tactical and operational management, supervision and support to the area sales team, immediately solve all operational, logistical and customer-related problems within the ambit of responsibility and identify and implement innovations, particularly those that will increase market share and the number and range of products being introduced into customers. The role will be based in the Port Elizabeth (Eastern Cape) and report to the Regional Sales Manager.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree in Management, Business Administration and/or Marketing.
    • Valid Code EB drivers license.
    • 3 to 5 years' experience in a marketing and sales function that includes coordinating sales teams and managing complex and/or significant customer relationships.
    • Sales, merchandising, analyzing data, deadline driven basic HR experience prefered.

    Sales Management:

    Supply Chain and Distribution Management:

    • Address area stock availability issues with depots.
    • Oversee the area order taking process.

    Budget Management:

    • Drive the achievement of the area sales budgets in terms of volume.
    • Control area sales costs.

    Area Team Management:

    • Ensure the sales team creates demand pull.
    • Plan and schedule team training and monitor impact on performance.
    • Organise and direct the area team towards the achievement of its targets and together with the team, identify sales goals, create and implement strategies, and evaluate performance.
    • Accomplish area sales goals by orienting, instructing, assigning, scheduling, counselling and disciplining staff.
    • Address the job expectations of staff.
    • Plan, supervise, evaluate job contributions and provide regular feedback.
    • Manage staff leave and general time management issues in line with organisational deliverables and standards.
