    MS Database Administrator

    Job Description

    • Install and configure new Microsoft SQL Server instances, including Always On availability groups and failover clustering.
    • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems 
    • Highly skilled at database design, installations, conversions Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management
    • Participates in Database Management System selection and maintains database performance
    • Engage in ongoing process improvement
    • Experienced in Database Performance, Maintenance and Development to perform the following:
    • Database management including backups, recovery and maintenance
    • Database management for export, import and mass data loads
    • Analyzes and generation of all tables and index statistics
    • Monitoring and resolving data lock issues
    • Check all statistics related to memory, locks, I/O, database response time, wait events, top sessions and background processes
    • On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) to capture, validate and store large amounts of transactions
    • Create indexes to achieve critical dataset response time for time sensitive reports.
    • Install SQL Server service packs and updates.
    • Configure and manage SQL Security settings.
    • Make system design recommendations according to Microsoft SQL Server best practices

    SCM Governance Specialist

    Job Description

    • The Senior Specialist is responsible for conducting bid reviews on RFQ’s, RFP’s, procurement by other means and variation/ expansion of contracts.
    • Provide day to day support to OD’s, SCM Governance 
    • Community, Bid Committees, and any other governance structures on SCM matters.
    • Update all SCM related Policies, procedures, checklist as and when required.
    • Analyse audit findings with aim of identifying root causes and develop appropriate strategic intervention to minimise re-occurrence.
    • Monitor the SCM compliance and provide report to management.
    • Support the implementation of self-control framework and 
    • identify areas that hinders the implementation.
    • Attend to all SCM disputes between Operating division and 
    • Transnet Internal Audit and provide appropriate guidance.
    • Attend to all SCM Governance, Risk and Compliance related matters as per the mandate and function of the unit.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of a legal, BCom, or SCM degree NQF Level 7) is required.
    • An Honours commercial degree will be added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5 years in supply chain management; and
    • Experience in SCM governance, risk and/or compliance role will 
    • be an advantage.

    Contract Specialist

    Job Description

    • To provide efficient management and operational support system that is focused on the effective development and implementation of national procurement contracts for respective National Businesses that meets the needs of the Division. 
    • knowledge and analysis of materials to be placed on contract, ensuring tender documents issued are legally and technically compliant.
    • Creating contracts for legal vetting and overseeing process for loading contracts on SAP and management until expiry.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Commercial, and

    • At least 5 years' experience in managing contracting process and

    Job Description

    • Drive an efficient management and operational support

    • A post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, 
    • Business Management, Finance, Commercial, MCIPS will be an 
    • added advantage.
    • At least 6 - 8 years' experience in managing the contracting 
    • process and in administering contracts within a procurement 
    • environment with at least 3 years at managerial level

    Administrator

    Job Description
    Provide support to the supply chain management team by 
    carrying out general administrative duties which includes: 

    • Update records
      • Respond to ad hoc administrative requests.
    • Reporting.
      • Ensure that the required key functional controls are adhered to. 
    • Work closely with the supply chain management team to 
    • align with auditors and resolve audit findings with regards to 
    • the process.
    • Maintain the auditors file list on SAP CLM

    Qualification and experience 

    • + 2 years of administrative experience in a procurement

    Job Description

    • Run the RFQ process below R2 000 000 but above R250 000.
    • Establish short terms supplier contracts.
    • Conduct negotiations.
    • Communicate with internal customers to ensure clear 
    • understanding of their needs and technical specifications 
    • within a short turnaround time.
    • Update and maintain a sourcing file in accordance to 
    • Annexure A

    Qualifications 

    • SCM related National Diploma, CIPS diploma or
    • equivalent 
    • Experience Minimum 3 years sourcing experience
