    Executive: Planning & Engineering

    ROLE PURPOSE

    • Accountable for the design, architecture and strategy of the Liquid IP, Voice, Transmission and Wireless networks.  Drive the vision and provide strategic support to the CTO in planning the Liquid network and associated customer solutions. Develop and maintain quality network design standards and methodologies to ensure a high availability service network. 
    • Drive development and adoption of best practice policies and standards within the network planning team.
    • Implement technology and network strategy - responsible for implementation of large infrastructure projects, maintaining integrity and quality assurance of network assets and related systems.
    • The Executive will work together with all technology functions to ensure customer service level agreements (SLA) and delivery commitments for delivery and operations are achieved.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    NETWORK STRATEGY AND PLANNING

    • Drive network growth by creating strategic network plans and projects. Ensure alignment of network capability with the strategic and operational products and services of the business.  
    • Provide network growth strategy to guide dimensioning and expansion of network nodes in line with annual operating plan.
    • Proactively manage strategic partnerships for IP transit and peering including specification of best peering points.
    • Recommend innovative network solutions that result in improved network service resilience, lower cost of ownership and improved customer satisfaction.  
    • Take ownership of, and lead capacity planning on international connectivity.
    • Use intelligence from solutions teams to identify business needs to steer network strategy for POP locations and capacity growth.  Identify potential network growth areas and align network development strategy appropriately.
    • Negotiate procurement, upgrades, and contract renewal for the network.  Participate in Committees and working groups for Liquid network planning and vendor strategy.

    POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

    • Formulate network standards and policies for IP connectivity, active equipment configuration, naming, and classification conventions.  Set best practice guidelines for core network configurations of active equipment.  Formulate policies and guidelines for equipment procurement to conform to set standards and architecture.
    • Take ownership of formulation and review of technical standards on IP networks and protocols.  Attend group technical standards committee meetings involving protocols, naming, and configuration of technical details.  Approve technical standard documents for the networks for CTO signoff.  Mandate the rollout of technical standards across the network group and proactively ensure adherence to network standards.

    RISK MANAGEMENT

    • Manage business continuity in network architecture and detailed designs across all network and service layers. Identification and management of key network risks to business relating to capacity, access, customer integrity, fair usage policies and initiate related projects and resource allocation to mitigate the risks.
    • Manage network control frameworks to provide a secure network environment and prevent unauthorized access to key network elements.  Responsible for managing audit findings within area of responsibility.
    • Effectively manage vendors and contractors to comply and align with various customer SLAs.
    • Manage programmes and processes to support various ISO accreditation.

    BU MANAGEMENT

    • Business management of the department, internal and external stakeholders to meet company strategic goals and objectives.
    • Develop business plans in line with the business unit goals and objectives to assist in achieving the overall organizational objectives.
    • Recognizes areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation.
    • Ensure that the business unit objectives are met through effective performance management and measurement.
    • Operational delivery of strategic objectives by ensuring resources aligned to support accordingly.
    • Strategic Management of relationships between line of business and the various business partners internally and externally to deliver superior service.  
    • Lead interactions with internal and external auditors.  Manage Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental programmes within area of responsibility.  Oversee Service Level Agreement compliance, ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal and monitor transaction compliance.

    NETWORK COST MANAGEMENT AND BUDGETS

    • Plan and manage expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits.
    • Ensure technical motivations, PR/PO approvals and GRN completions are completed timeously.
    • Prepare and manage Annual Operational and Capital Budgets to meet strategic objectives of the department. 
    • Ensure costs for area of accountability are managed appropriately and contained within agreed budget, variances accounted for and justified.

    Requirements
    Qualifications

    • A degree in a technical or engineering field is mandatory.
    • Technology certifications to a professional level or equivale (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE) advantageous

    Experience

    • 10+ years post qualification experience in Service provider or network operator and ICT/Telecoms Network Management, planning and design with
    • 5 years' experience in Telecommunications planning in a senior leadership role.
    • Experience in planning, network design, and internet protocols and related technologies and sound working knowledge of IP networking, Telecoms, and DWDM design principles.

    Administrator: Operations

    Description

    • We are looking for an Administrator: Operations to facilitate all administrative, documentation and logistic activities related to the Technical Operations Department by coordinating activities amongst the team to ensure deadlines are met. To establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff, officials, key stakeholders and the rest of the Business Units and OPCOs in order to facilitate smooth running of the Technical Operations Departnment.

    Key Performance Area

    Effective administration and document administration, and support

    • Aggregate the monthly reporting from all locations and produce the monthly report
    • Aggregate the weekly reporting from all locations and produce the weekly report
    • Ensure data is available, accurate and on time for weekly and monthly reports
    • Provides high-level support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports and handling information requests
    • Advise and support the Director of Technical Operations on matters requiring personal attention, with associated deadlines and prepare relevant documentation
    • Assist the Director of Technical Operations with day-to-day activities
    • Assisting with departmental cost processing, tracking, approvals and analysis; working closely with the finance department

    • Evaluate invitations (internal and external) within the scope of diary administration and take appropriate action in respect of responding (where necessary) on behalf of the Director of Technical Operations

    Project Manager (Africa Data Centers)

    Description

    • The Project Manager oversees from beginning to full completion, the planning, design, and construction of Data Centre Projects in Africa. The purpose of the PM is to control a project's time, cost and quality and to coordinate the on-site day to day activities.
    • The Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager in overseeing all phases of project management including design, construction, occupancy, quality control, staffing and budget management on large-scale data centre projects. The Project Manager will be the lead PM on small-scale projects.

    Key Performance Area

    Contract Administration

    • Ensure that all contractual works are executed
    • Responsible to prepare all change requests for the Senior PM
    • Responsible to issue Variation Orders to the vendors once all internal approvals have been received

    Quality Management

    • Ensure that for any materials and equipment, a data sheet has been submitted and approved prior to installation.
    • Ensure that all drawings have been reviewed and approved by all ADC stakeholders (Engineers, Operations) prior to commencement of the works

    Project Management

    • Evaluate work sequencing and examine all opportunities for improvement
    • Responsible for making sure that all parties involved (Contractors, External Consultants, Supply Chain) are well aware of the programme, make sure that approved programme of works is well executed.

    Commissioning and Project close-out

    • Coordinate commissioning and testing process between internal and external project members
    • Responsible for the handover process to Operations team 

    Cost Management

    • Review and approve all vendors valuation
    • Recommend additional works that could improve the project while staying within the approved budget.
    • Ensure that all project documents are secured and up to date on the Group shared drive
    • Escalate issue when require

    Administrator: Procurement

    Description

    • We looking to appoint an Administrator: Procurement to  provide support to procurement teams by performing general administrative duties and ordering equipment and materials for their projects. Working in this position involves organizing, creation of purchase requisitions, keeping records updated, storing documents, and solving invoice/order issues. The procurement administrator requires excellent organization skills, people skills, and should know his/her way around word documents and spreadsheets. 

    E-Procurement 

    • Reports and performs applicable tasks required on the E-Procurement tool (RFX Tracker, Contract Management Database) utilisation, where applicable and when the system can be used, no manual processes (phone, email) to be allowed

    • Analyse and perform necessary tasks for Supplier Tail Rationalisation – 

    Reporting

    • Open Purchase Requisition Reporting to the P&SC Team, to Business for review and feedback

    Purchase orders placed reporting.

    • Open and overdue Purchase Orders including open order value – reduction in % month on month for open orders

    Relationship Management

    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that a professional manner is always maintained with customers.
    • Ensures ALL approved documents are kept and managed in a safe environment for Audit purposes. (Archived in appropriate folders)
    • Ensure the relevant internal stakeholders have access to important records/folders (MS Teams and SharePoint access)

    Senior Specialist: Enterprise Solution Architect

    ROLE PURPOSE

    • To execute Enterprise Solutioning by enabling solutions with managed network as a service (SD-WAN, WAN, IP and DWDM type service creation and solutions), managed cloud, managed hosting, managed voice and managed security requirements.
    • This role will be driving the advanced solution requirements for the Enterprise Business Unit within Liquid Intelligent Technologies to positively contribute to growth in net new MRR and achieving the best customer experience for LIT and its customers.
    • Responsible for the planning, development, execution and management of solution deliverables, to drive value creation for LIT and its customers. Managing and executing the delivery of managed service solution design creation for customer value propositions and driving activities such as service and solution delivery and creations; GTM deliverables; driving and supporting new customer services/solutions – mostly Presales facing.
    • Planning, leading, controlling and managing solution creation which includes – solution architecture work, solution planning, pipeline creation, and project delivery activities to create growth of market share of the enterprise business unit - across all industry verticals.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Decides on the Enterprise Customers Managed Networking services and Solutioning requirements across all industry verticals and the methodology and correct Solution Architecture scoping - considers Partners and OEMs to match the required solutions for all Enterprise Business customer requirements. 
    • Involved in pricing strategies and price setting, giving input on margins per product / solution, cost modelling and allocation methodologies.
    • Decides on the correct Technology direction for new services/functionality/technology requirements for required solutions.
    • Accountable for overseeing the execution of solution architecture delivery for enterprise solutions.  Responsible for the performance management for outsourced vendors/third party/delivery partners in the solutioning process.
    • Ensuring customer experience is achieved with the right choice of solution.
    • Accountable for the creation of technical diagrams, completion of Bid and Tender documents from a technical go-to person and supporting sales collateral and training KAMs and partners and customers as and where required.
    • Manage the automisation, digitisation, enablement of sales process activities in the Enterprise solutions, capacity management to deliver the large bids and tenders in the Enterprise solutioning team. 
    • Provide input on market data, market intelligence, competitive intelligence for Enterprise solutions.

    Process

    • Work with the sales and product management team/s to translate customer requirements/objectives into solutions supported that drive market awareness and revenue growth (MRR & customer centricity) 
    • Understand the intricacies of LIT cloud product portfolio (existing and new) in order to articulate our differentiated position in the market “The objective is to position LIT as a digital service provider / modern technology provider of choice, through all we do.”
    • Equip, develop and manage expertise of seasoned professionals to deliver solution focused solutions and strategic revenue programs.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on planning building, delivering and managing solutions for the enterprise business customer – with strong technical knowledge displayed.
    • Drive a solutions approach including positioning, planning and selling of our services propositions with a digital first, revenue marketing approach.  Develop Solution Architecture designs to internal and external stakeholders to drive interest, understanding and market opportunity to drive MRR.
    • Develop and execute technical designs and inputs including developing relevant collateral for delivering training and designing blueprint buyer journeys, and map buyer decisions at each stage of the buying cycle.
    • Work closely with sales teams and the rest of the business, to identify and execute on one-on-one/few campaigns, tactics, specific collateral, and develop other sales/business aids to help open new opportunities and close business deals. 
    • Plan, develop and execute technical deliverables for all new customer requirements. Manage and work with internal and external stakeholder groups to technical scope and solution requirements are executed as per the customers requirement - by planning, developing and managing such deliverables/initiatives on time and with great quality.
    • Create and implement best practices for the Enterprise Business Unit as the technical lead as and where required with LIT.
    • Utilise business intelligence to understand solution sets match market and customer requirements and support Bids and solution requests.
    • Engage with stakeholders across the business, in supporting new products and solutions, by developing services that differentiates LIT in the market. This is including but not limited to value propositions through partnerships that enable sales and new revenue opportunities.
    • Create and manage specific lead revenue generating and customer engagement programs to drive new revenue – by planning, developing and managing such initiatives with new and existing service offerings.
    • Execute new services through the development solutions suitable for enterprise customers and their requirements.
    • Support and execute on the development key project as and where required to drive LIT market share.
    • Ensure that the marketing, the product teams, sales and rest of the business align on priorities and programs and to ensure the successful execution of such initiatives with strong collaboration between all stakeholders.
    • Deliver outcomes with industry expertise (resources) and strategic vendor partnerships (vendors and partners) to design, build, manage and deliver enterprise business solutions for customers. 
    • The resource will be responsible for the overall formation of the strategy of the managed cloud and managed networking services portfolio including working on major deal pricing and pricing solutions.
    • Develop compelling, market competitive commercial solutions for incorporation into customer proposals, ensuring conformance with the bid strategy and compliance with the defined governance processes.
    • Deliver compelling and integrated marketing propositions that meet customer needs, enable sales in the enterprise segment/channels, to create market awareness and generate demand for managed cloud and managed networking services.

    Compliance/Governance & Finance

    • Drive MRR acquisition strategy, owning channel and the delivery across all segments and industry verticals, develop technical designs and processes and frameworks that will scale with a growing organization.  Support and enable Quarterly Roadmap priorities.
    • Aligned and support the Enterprise Business Unit targets across all segments and vertical budgets. 

    Requirements

    • Degree and/or National Diploma IT/Engineering/Marketing/Business Management
    • Post Graduate Degree advantageous

    Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

    • Cisco and Forti Security Certification advantageous
    • Huawei/Fortinet Certified advantageous
    • Microsoft Cloud, AWS Cloud, ITIL, Agile certification beneficial
    • 8 years industry experience within solution architecture/technical product development/product management/ (preferably in having experience working in the IT/ICT/telecommunications sector as a CCIE). Exposure and experience in working on managed network services with a proven track record in managed cloud services and managed networking solutions as a CCIE.
    • Strong knowledge and experience in Cisco/Fortinet/Velocloud/Huawei/Velocloud 
    • SD-WAN type solution knowledge 
    • Solid WAN understanding (using MPLS, Internet, DWDM) 
    • Solid understanding in planning, building and designing solutions for Large Enterprise customers
