    Factory IT Coordinator, ekaterra, Pietermaritzburg (Short-term)

    Your Role

    ekaterra is currently in the process of full global IT Systems and Infrastructure separation from its former owner – Unilever Group. The main goal of this separation is to design, build, test and deploy a fully separate, flexible, and fit for purpose IT environment. 

    Therefore, we are currently looking for a Factory IT Infra Lead, who would coordinate the deployment activities, provide local hardware & software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all local server and network areas in cooperation with internal and external IT support services. 

     Your Key Tasks:

    General activities:

    Acts, as primary technical administrator at ekaterra Factory, handles the day to day IT technical issues as an admin, both on network, as well as local applications in cooperation with Global, Regional and External IT support centres. 

    Provide day to day IT Support to the local organization and resolving service request or problems related to IT Assets & Systems, such as workstations & peripherals on site, locally or in cooperation with global, regional and external IT support centres.

    Site / Factory and Plantation Infrastructure contact:

    Acts a local IT contact or is able to assure the local representation in all IT related topics. Takes care
    of logistics like hardware being delivered to the site and accepts the delivery, where required.

    Is able to establish and maintain the local IT vendor relations.

    Network and Unified Communication:

    • Is aware about the WAN connectivity and requirements of a location, incl. WAN demarcation point
    • and assist as a primary contact for the WAN provider. 
    • Is aware about LAN and WiFi connectivity infrastructure and understands the requirements of the office and industrial network.
    • Is aware about unified communication design and communication infrastructure on site and assists
    • to the Vendor, if any information or resolution is required.
    • Local application owner
    • Provides local application landscape knowledge and coordinates the information flows between
    • the functional application users and all necessary stakeholders.
    • Supports or coordinates Business Testing activities in relation to all local applications.
    • Stakeholder Management and key interfaces 
    • The role ensures effective global, regional and local internal and external stakeholders’ collaboration across all organization levels.
    • The role ensures effective external Vendors and IT Support Centres collaboration.

    Skills and Experience 

    • Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science/ Electronics & Computer Science, OR any equivalent degree course.
    • 6-8 years of working experience relevant to IT Support/ Infrastructure Support role
    • Previous experience in factories/FMCG industry is highly desirable
    • Good troubleshooting knowledge for Desktops/Laptops and basic level server hardware skills.
    • Understanding of the Network topology & network connectivity (LAN/VLAN/WAN).
    • Basic knowledge of IP Telephony and IPT troubleshooting skills.
    • Knowledge of software deployment lifecycle. Notions of ITIL-based processes or certification (v3 Foundation level or up) will be an advantage.
    • Ability to proactively identify and solve problems logically and autonomously (e.g. troubleshooting, root cause analysis, remediations).
    • Ability to work in international and cross-cultural team and environment.
    • Communicative, with good time management and prioritization skills

    Process Engineer

    Working directly with the line crews on a daily basis. Act as the technical trainer for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures. Responsible for the validation of all process improvements and the establishment of revised basic conditions on the line.  A core deliverable is eliminating losses and wastes and increase the stability of the line to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi-autonomous teams.

    • Eliminate Waste and Loss according to the WCM prioritization process using AM, PM, FI and QC pillar tools and methodologies
    • Create Technical and Quality Standards to ensure process stability on the line

    • Experience in AM, PM, Quality and FI tools and processes
    • HAZOPs and Safety Approval Systems working knowledge and experience is essential
    • Able to visualize clearly what the ideal production system should be. Clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standards
    • Experience in statistics and process control tools. Drive decision making based on data.

    Quality Lead, Supply Chain, ekaterra, Pietermaritzburg (Short-term)

    Your Role

    The job purpose for this role is twofold:

    • Build and Implement the SAP-QM module of the new S4H SAP implementation at Pietermaritzburg (PMB) factory, according to ekaterra Global Design for Quality Management in Manufacture, Streamline Quality processes in the factory in line with Global Design, using the opportunity of a new SAP implementation.
    • Provide quality assurance service to the business to ensure that products produced by PMB are fit for use by the consumers and according to ekaterra specifications and standard. Ensure that all aspects of Quality are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.

     Your Key Tasks:

    Quality Assurance

    • Performs inbound sampling & testing of raw & pack materials using approved method of analysis and check compliance with specifications / standards. Block and release materials using SAP
    • Submits detected non-conformities to the Quality Lead, Planning, Production and Supplier (raise SNCR in SAP / Tea system). Follow up with suppliers for corrective actions
    • Ensure rejected material returns advice completed timeously and ensure removal of poor-quality material from site back to suppliers.
    • Ensure that all transactions are recorded on SAP.
    • Carry out factory quality inspections on blends and packed products and advises whether to release finished goods to DC
    • Ensures that CRQS (consumer relevant quality standards) checks are conducted as per SOP and that any CRQS training is conducted as per need.
    • Ensures retention samples are kept for all product produced by line and for each shift.
    • Analyses and investigates consumer and customer complaints and follows up with appropriate corrective actions

    SAP-QM

    • Be the receiver of Train-the-Trainer training provided by Accenture teams and roll out the training to all SAP-QM users in PMB factory
    • Build the SAP-QM structure and own the QM Master Data set for PMB
    • Implement a solid inbound sampling process at PMB in line with the Global Design
    • Ensure that relevant Quality Master Data are made available for other SAP modules
    • Organise and lead the User Acceptance Testing for SAP-QM in close cooperation with the Global SAP-QM specialist (in the global Q-team from Dec. 22)
    • Act as the First Point of Contact (FPoC) and Key-User for SAP-QM in PMB factory
    • Partner with Global Quality, Blossom team, Accenture, and any other relevant team/discipline to coordinate the implementation of the S4H QM Module in PMB factory
    • Support the preparation of manual workarounds enabling essential Quality data to be captured and stored in case of issues with SAP-QM at system Go-Live

    Skills and experience:

    • 1-3-year experience in FMCG/ Manufacturing environment
    • Experience with SAP-QM in a Foods Manufacturing environment
    • Multiple years Supply Chain experience preferred
    • Consumer and customer complaints management (working knowledge preferred)
    • Route Cause Analysis working knowledge and experience
    • Packing and raw materials working knowledge and experience preferred
    • Experience with Tea (Blending & Packing) will be an added advantage

    Factory Coordinator, Supply Chain, ekaterra, Pietermaritzburg (Short-term)

    Your Role

    The Factory coordinator will manage the overall Factory transition through various tasks such as  owning the on-time delivery and deployment of business processes, new system implementations and change management within the factory by working closely with local factory teams, global workstream leads, regional Blossom team leads and the system integrator to ensure all end state processes and systems are fit for purpose in the factory are on track.

     Your Key Tasks:

    • Overall responsibility and key point of contact for the coordination of Blossom Planning and execution activities for the factory
    • Manage progress of the project, escalating for support and resolving issues and risks with team members and stakeholders
    • Lead Project Blossom communications for Factory ensuring understanding, engagement and sharing of critical information with all levels of factory organization
    • Work collaboratively with the Factory leadership team on change management.  Understand employee morale and engagement over the course of the project and use communication and morale boosting tactics to ensure healthy morale is maintained and employees are being effectively guided through the change.  Blossom should not be seen as a project that is happening to the employees, rather Project Blossom is the exciting opportunity of collectively starting up a new company that we are all a part of.
    • Support Business as Usual activities as needed to allow end state owners space to engage in Blossom design and implementation
    • Lead specific changes including but not limited to: S4HANA implementation, Warehouse management system installation and commissioning, Flex Blending process change, IT migration, and all Blossom standard changes impacting Planning/Scheduling, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics

     Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Operations, Supply Chain)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering or Logistics)
    • Knowledge of factory operations and planning (SAP APO and SAP ECC) systems
    • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex requirements and expectations in a simple way
    • Organization: Strong organizational skills with a demonstrable track record in successful project management and project delivery
    • Ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and influence decisions
    • Analytical thinking, creative problem-solving ability
    • Time consciousness, diligence, flexibility, and interest to accept more responsibility, able to take initiative and give proper decisions timely

    • Expertise in product composition assessment
    • Expertise with nutrient calculation programme

    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a wider cross-functional team.
