    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • A relevant Masters’ degree in Education 
    • A relevant teaching qualification
    • Life Science/Natural Science as a major at undergraduate level
    • At least two (2) relevant teaching experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ recent relevant experience in teaching Life Science/Natural Science at school level
    • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate phase students
    • Experience and knowledge of support and differentiated teaching for learners experiencing barriers to learning related to Life Science/Natural Sciences

    Senior Technician (Contract ending 31 December 2024)

    Job Purpose

    • Perform technical tasks in the Biomedical research laboratories ranging from assisting with maintenance and running of equipment, assisting with the practical training of post graduate students. Ensuring optimal laboratory environment.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • BSc degree in Medical Science or equivalent qualification
    • At least 4 years’ experience in a research laborator
    • Recommendations: Preference will be given to candidates with bioinformatics and biostatistics experience

    Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

    • Ensure laboratory safety and standards
    • Maintenance and expansion of research facilities
    • Assisting post grad students, researchers and the department in statistical and bioinformatics analysis
    • Preparation, maintenance and calibration of specialized equipment for use in the post graduate and research laboratories
    • Purchasing of stock and monitoring of stock levels

    Locksmith (Re-advertisement)

    Job Purpose

    • To adjust, maintain, repair, and replaces door locks, padlocks, tumbler locks, combination locks, and various other lock hardware. The incumbent will also be responsible to ensure that the integrity and security of all CPUT assets is maintain through proper management of all the locking systems of the facilities and auxiliary equipment.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Grade 10
    • Must be registered with the Locksmith's Association of South Africa (LASA) and the Private Security Industry Regulator Authority (PSIRA)
    • Minimum of 5 years working in the construction sector doing Locksmithing tasks.
    • A valid driver licence.

    • Cut new or duplicate keys from existing keys, patterns, or codes

    Job Purpose

    • The management of the CPUT staff, student and nursing services transport system. The management of CPUT vehicle
    • Fleet, comprising pool, maintenance, service, and emergency vehicles as well as the complement of pool drivers.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    •  National Diploma in Fleet Management and/or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF 6)
