    Chief National Investigations Officer

    Main purpose:

    • To oversee all national investigations to ensure efficiency and quality of investigations into high profile maladministration and corruption within State institutions. To lead and direct the national caseload and maintain the viability of the SIU as a going concern. To provide line-of-sight leadership for staff members and lead stakeholder interactions and business development for national investigation operations

    Minimum qualification and experience: 

    • Honours Degree in Accounting, Legal, Forensic Investigation or relevant NQF 8. Registration with relevant Investigation bodies and Project Management qualification would be advantageous. Eight to ten years’ experience inf Forensic Investigations, of which five years’ is at senior management level. Extensive experience in public sector investigations.

    Senior Manager: Civil Litigation

    Main purpose: 

    • To be responsible for the effective functioning of the Civil Litigation Section of the SIU, which will handle Civil Litigation on behalf of the SIU and state institutions investigated by the SIU.

    Minimum qualification and experience: 

    • LLB or relevant (NQF 8).  Admission as an Attorney or an Advocate. Six to eight years’ experience after admission as an Advocate or Attorney, within a Civil Litigation environment, of which four years is at a management level.

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • Lead the strategic planning for and management of the Civil Litigation Section of the SIU. Manage and oversee Civil Litigation on behalf of the SIU and State Institutions investigated by the SIU. Consulting Services. Financial Management. Human Resource Management. Stakeholder Management.

    Principal Forensic Lawyer

    Main purpose: 

    • To deliver on provincial projects and provide support to national projects through the provision of quality forensic legal specialist services during investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions, in support of the Multi-disciplinary approach (“MDA”) to all projects/assignments. To manage and provide coaching and mentoring to subordinates to transfer skills and specialised knowledge.

    Minimum qualification and experience:

    •  LLB (NQF 8). Admitted as an attorney/advocate. Membership with a professional body would be advantageous. Six to Eight years’ appropriate Legal Experience in Forensics, of which four years should have been at a management level. Experience in public sector investigations.

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • Deliver on Provincial and National Projects Requiring Specialist Forensic Legal Expertise. Participate in Remedial Action Proceedings.

    Senior Manager: Reward & Performance

    Main purpose: 

    • To manage the development and administration of the Special Investigation Unit’s Reward and Performance Management strategy to attract, retain and motivate staff.
    • Also responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of reward, performance, and payroll strategies, policies, and programs to ensure alignment with the SIU’s strategic objectives.
    • This role will focus on creating a high-performance culture through effective performance management systems, competitive reward structures, and efficient payroll operations.

    Minimum qualification and experience:

    •  B Honours Degree in Human Resources Management (NQF 8). 6 to 8 years experience in remuneration and performance, of which 4 years is at a management level.

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement reward and performance strategies that align with the SIU’s goals and objectives.
    • Policy Development: Create and maintain reward and performance policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation.
    • Implement Performance Management System: Oversee the performance management system, including setting performance standards, conducting performance reviews, and managing performance improvement plans. Operational Planning and Implementation:
    • Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including managing payroll systems, compliance with tax regulations, and resolving payroll-related issues.
    • Reward Management: Design and manage compensation structures, including salary benchmarking, incentive programs, and recognition schemes.
    • Data Analysis: Analyse performance and reward data to provide insights and recommendations to SIU executive management.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with SIU Management and Human Capital management to ensure alignment and effective implementation of reward and performance programs.
    • Compliance: Ensure all reward and performance practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Learning and Development: Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on performance and reward-related matters. Budget Management. Staff Management.

    Senior Manager: Corporate Secretariat & Governance

    Main purpose: 

    • To ensure the effective functioning of the corporate secretariat and governance functions by providing corporate secretariat support services to the Corporate Governance Oversight and Advisory Committees, Executive Committee (EXCO), EXCO sub-committees and other relevant committees in ensuring adherence and compliance to all applicable legislation and corporate governance regulations.     • Operational Planning & Implementation for Governance Division. Manage Corporate Governance across the SIU. Render Secretariat Support to Corporate Governance oversight and advisory Committees’ (CGC) Meetings, Executive Committee (EXCO) meetings and EXCO sub-committees meetings (the Committees). Assist in the facilitation of proper Induction of Corporate Governance oversight and advisory Committee Members. Manage CGC Governance. Manage the implementation of a Whistle Blowing Programme.
