    SHE Assistant

    Job Specification:

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Assist the SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) Manager with all aspects of business system activities
    • Collating and compiling daily, weekly and monthly reports
    • Logging of all Non Conformances, audit findings, complaints and compliments on Shopware and the intranet reporting system
    • Conduct evacuation and environmental emergency exercises as planned by the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager
    • Conduct safety, health and environmental audits as per the internal audit schedule
    • Conduct daily inspection of the waste area using a checklist and ensure that good housekeeping is maintained
    • Prepare and communicate Safety, Health and Environmental topics to employees and ensure that training registers are completed and filed
    • Conduct SHE induction to new employees and contractors
    • Conduct weekly inspections on all contractors working on-site
    • Ensures that contractors safety files are kept up to date with relevant and accurate records
    • Ensure that all mini-risk assessments, safe work permits are received from all stakeholders and are kept on file
    • Keep up to date on the environmental aspects/impacts and risk assessment registers
    • Assist the SHE Manager to supervise the site security to ensure that security management procedures are in place and adhered to
    • Ensure that all legal appointment letters are up to date
    • Ensure that SHE incident investigations are conducted, the root causes are identified and follow-up actions are completed
    • Conducting of job observations as per the internal schedule
    • Assist with preparing and participating of external SHE and Marsh audits
    • Facilitate SHE competitions and attend communication meetings
    • Maintain and keep up-to-date system procedures as per ISO14001
    • Assist the SHE Manager to do a smooth transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001
    • General administration work
    • Ensure that the site complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and it’s Regulations
    • Attends health and safety meetings and effectively discusses and deals with relevant issues and items
    • Maintaining set targets related to site safety (DIFR, Near misses)
    • Basic knowledge of ISO 2200 standard
    • Ability to facilitate and manage SHE management system
    • Keep and track submission of safety reps' inspection registers
    • Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by the SHE Manager
    • Oversee inspection of first aid boxes by first-aiders
    • Ensure that firefighting equipment inspections are conducted as per schedule

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • At least 3 years' experience as a Health & Safety Assistant within the FMCG / Manufacturing/Production environment
    • Experience working in a unionised environment essential

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • SAMTRAC or similar SH&E/Risk Management qualification
    • National Diploma or BTech in Safety Management

    Area Sales Manager - Potchefstroom

    Job Specification:

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Monitor store ordering process, stock levels, and returns and take corrective action if required
    • Monitor pricing and ensure mandate adherence
    • Negotiate promotional activity
    • POP implementation and negotiate ad-hoc display and space
    • Check-in stock, expiry dates and ensure shelf health standards are maintained
    • Address pricing and delivery issues
    • Monitor forward share in relation to market share as well as the rate of sale

    • Management of people and teams
    • Good understanding and implementation of Human Resources and Industrial relations processes and procedures

    Qualifications:

    • Completed Matric
    • A completed tertiary qualification (Business/Sales/Marketing/Retail) advantageous

    Additional Requirements:

    • Sound knowledge of the FMCG industry
    • A good understanding of the merchandising industry
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
