    Data Scientist

    The Role

    We are looking to hire a skilled and experienced Data Scientist with a robust background in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. Demonstrates proficiency in leveraging advanced analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets. Strong command of programming languages such as Python and R, as well as expertise in SQL for efficient data manipulation. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a continuous learner passionate about exploring emerging technologies and methodologies in the data science field. 

    Skills and Experience

    What you’ll do:

    Provide business insights through statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modelling, simulation and optimisation. to Identify, explore, examine, integrate and scrub data from multiple disparate data sources required to answer complex business questions.

    • Design advanced analytics (quantitative) models that will answer key business questions or discover opportunities for improvement, increased revenue or reduced costs.
    • Analyse model results, interpret findings and communicate these findings in commercial terms to Business Users so that the business impact is clearly understood.
    • Confidently and clearly communicate analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Recommend solutions for creating revenue and reducing costs/loss based on model results.
    • Run and automate regular reporting and operationalise successful models. ·

    Establish effective and collaborative partnerships with BI Analysts / Data Scientists / Use Case Owners in the business.

    • Work closely with the Data Analyst(s) to assist in answering complex business problems that require statistical analysis.
    • Regularly monitor internal and external customer needs and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Remain current with retail industry and Business Intelligence and data trends that will have business strategy implications or can be used to support recommendations to continually ‘test and learn/ to generate value. ·
    • Remain current with developments in advanced analytics and methodologies.

    Establish effective and collaborative partnerships with relevant business and IT teams, particularly the BI source systems.

    • Remain current with developments in advanced analytics technology and methodologies.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of IT management’s remediation of IT audit findings and IT risks.
    • Contribute to the assessment and selection of IT GRC applications, solutions and services.

    Your expertise:

    • A minimum of 5 years in advanced analytics, model building and optimisation 
    • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SAS and SQL skills or equivalent analytical platform skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of Data Warehousing and BI environments Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced analytical techniques, including: statistical methods, segmentation, experimental design, neural networks, data mining, optimisation techniques. 
    • Ability to identify which business problems will have the most value to the organisation if addressed through an advanced analytics solution. 
    • Ability to deal with situations where there are a lot of unknowns.
    • Experience with Big Data ecosystems and SAS and SQL skills or equivalent analytical platform skills advantageous.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in applied statistics, mathematics, operational research, economics, data engineering, risk management or equivalent industry training and experience. 
    • Advanced degree (honours or masters) preferred.

    Client Director

    The Role

    We are looking for a Client Director to join our team.  The purpose of the client director role is to ensure that we have a deliberate and dedicated focus on all large (R100m+) clients / programmes or those that have the potential to reach R100m within 3-5 years, so that these grow over time, that risks are mitigated, issues are swiftly dealt with, that relationships are nurtured to withstand occasional service delivery issues, and that someone wakes up every morning thinking about how we can better serve, add value and support a particular client, while bringing the best of iOCO to the fore to grow our footprint in the account.

    Skills and Experience

    What you’ll do:

    • Client relationship building – to build and nurture a close and lasting relationship with a number of senior client stakeholders (business and IT), learning their strategy, their operating model, their commercial models, and helping them understand and navigate what iOCO has to offer to support them in their strategy (Partner for Life).   
    • Client engagement – to be the main point of escalation for the client at all times; spending enough time on site to garner trust and establish and maintain a professional level of engagement. To arrange with internal iOCO stakeholders to take new and interesting thoughts, trends, technology and opportunities to the client to grow their thinking and cement the partnership, and to find new ways to deliver value to the client for the long term.                  
    • Service delivery – to engage with senior iOCO leaders to make sure that there is good oversight on the sound management of projects, services and products provided by IOCO business units so that delivery aligns to the expectations of the client; while hosting periodic workshops with iOCO leaders in the account to ensure that the IOCO teams are well positioned to deliver what they need to, and that client expectations are realistic and constantly managed.
    • Grow the account leveraging the breadth and depth of iOCO. Growth targets are discussed per account at the start of each financial year (1 August) and are based on a calculation derived from CTC.

    Your expertise:

    • 15 to 20 years experience in a Client Director role.
    • Experience in networking within the relevant industry in SA is a must (Banking OR Telco OR Oil, Gas &Mining)
    • Must have worked in the relevant Industry in SA (Banking OR Telco OR Oil, Gas & Mining)
    • Consulting background would be advantageous.
