    Electrical Design Engineer

    Design and Development:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop electrical systems, products, or components within electrical distribution or transmission.
    • Create detailed schematics, drawings, and specifications for electrical assemblies.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to ensure the viability of designs.

    Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Perform testing, calibration, and validation of electrical systems.
    • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in the systems' electrical aspects.
    • Propose and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.

    Assembly and Installation:

    • Participate in the installation and commissioning of equipment, ensuring proper functionality.

    Maintenance and Repair:

    • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
    • Diagnose and repair faults, malfunctions, or breakdowns in equipment.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies

    Documentation:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including design records, test reports, and maintenance logs.
    • Update technical manuals and user guides for electro-mechanical systems.
    • Generate bill of materials (BOMs), specifications, and documentation required for the manufacturing and assembly processes.

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of components.
    • Communicate effectively with Project Managers and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress and challenges.

    Qualifications

    What qualifications will make you successful in this role?

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • 5-10 years of experience designing power systems and control solutions.
    • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining electro-mechanical systems.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (3D drawings, AutoCAD Electrical & Inventor) for schematic design and modelling.
    • EPlan electric P8 or similar will be an added advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, substation designs, and mechanical components.
    • Hands-on experience with testing and measurement equipment.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relating to engineering practices.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Experience with mobile substation/skid designs, finite element analysis, and ETAP studies.
    • Knowledge of mechatronics principles.
    • Prior experience in manufacturing or consulting environment or related field of work.
    • Professional registration with ECSA or related engineering bodies will be an added advantage.
    • The ideal candidate would be an Electrical Design Engineer with experience or knowledge of Electrical design.

    • Expertise in energy management across different segments.
    • In-depth knowledge of microgrid systems, including battery energy storage, electrical distribution, and control systems.
    • Strong connections within the power and grid (electrical utilities) industry in Africa.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent command of English.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with renewable energy resources and their integration.

    Transactional Product Marketing Director

    Your Role – Magic happens when you bring great people together!

    • Define offer portfolio and product strategy based on knowledge of competitor activities (cluster and regional).
    • Product portfolio management, including product strategy, positioning, road map, product launches, etc., to achieve profitable sales.
    • Owns activity P&L for defined offer portfolio.
    • Responsible for achieving top line (according to offer strategy), profitability (GM) and incremental price realisation (DP).
    • Drive technology thought leadership through Sales, BD and a more extensive partner ecosystem.
    • Aim for and achieve a higher Vitality index defined in the AMSP roadmap.
    • Owns the AMSP process for the respective activity.
    • Drive Demand generation for this business.
    • Develop battle cards and animate strong sales enablement for the partner’s ecosystem.
    • Inputs regional and global teams and participates in product evolution projects.

    • Competitor Intelligence: build and keep up to date a competitor comparison matrix. This intelligence is used to inform new product development, pricing strategies, and marketing tactics.
    • Product Messaging: using customer research and competitor intelligence, develop product positioning and messaging, including differentiators and use cases.
    • GTM: work closely with sales and channel marketing teams to create and support the go-to-market strategy.
    • Stakeholder Management: work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and regularly present to the board such as (Finance, Supply chain, CCC, etc...)

    Qualifications

    • Relevant technical qualification, e.g., BSc. Eng. or B-Tech in Electrical Engineering.
    • Relevant Marketing or commercial qualification and/or MBA or similar postgraduate business qualification an advantage.
    • 7+ years of experience in a similar industry.
    • P&L management experience.
    • Solid experience in Anglophone Market in sales, engineering or marketing roles.
    • Knowledge of the South African market is advantageous.Knowledge of Schneider Electric Business (customers, products, etc.) is beneficial.
