    Senior Payroll Administrator – Cape Town

    Duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Manage the input and processing of the SA Metal payroll of 1250+ employees
    • Accurately process timesheets ensuring deadlines are met
    • Accurately calculate overtime and leave payments
    • To ensure third party deductions are processed and payments are made by a specific date
    • Process statutory deductions i.t.o. PAYE, UIF, WCA, etc.
    • Maintain payroll records in terms of statutory requirements.
    • Calculating allowances, shift payments and pay increase
    • Answering staff queries about timesheets or pay slips
    • Liaise with Human Capital on wage and HR concerns
    • Proactive approach to payroll processing

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Relevant Diploma/Degree in payroll
    • Accsys PeopleWare experience advantageous
    • Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Office) – create spreadsheets, communicate with e-mail, compile reports and present data in tabulated form, numerical and descriptive accuracy essential
    • Working knowledge of Time & Attendance software
    • 5-8 years of experience processing payroll for a large organization
    • Experience of working in a service orientated division and environment

    Branch Manager - Philippi and Wetton Branch

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Daily operations, planning and managing of the branch
    • Negotiating purchases with suppliers
    • Leading and managing a team in order to achieve operational requirements
    • Ensuring Company policies and procedures and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to

    Security Inspector

    RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

    • Posting of Security Personnel
    • Perform site inspections at satellite branches and discuss preventative measures
    • Identify and mitigate risk
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures
    • Support management with security operations
    • Manage conflict and client dissatisfaction
    • Investigate and manage on-site incidents
    • Training Security personnel to ensure the safety of the company’s employees, clients and property.
    • Ensure efficiency and productivity of Security personnel.

    QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

    • Registered with PSIRA – Minimum Grade A
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Willing to work irregular hours (shifts) and overtime
    • In good health and physical stature

    • Control Room experience is advantageous

    Dispatch Assistant

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform routine inspections and report on all problems or defective equipment.
    • Assist the crane operator with loading of bundles.
    • Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area in accordance with good housekeeping practice.
    • Provide general assistance where needed.
    • Perform routine housekeeping tasks, Sweep the floor area, stack and sort dunnage.
    • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
    • May be required to participate in adhoc tasks as determined by the operational status of the plant or as determined by the management in accordance with capabilities, which includes but is not limited to training tasks, relief duties etc.

    Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

    • Matric or similar with relevant experience;
    • 2 – 3 Years experience in a steel manufacturing or similar environment;
    • Good understanding of operational machinery
    • Knowledge about a plant environment, systems and emergency procedures
    • Able to work overtime as determined by the plant operational status.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment;
    • Reliable transport is essential for this position;
    • Motivated, responsible and dependable with good work ethic;
    • Very good general health with stamina to go the distance

    Cold End Controller

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • To act as backup for all operators, controllers and assistants.
    • Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines
    • Control activities of the senior operators sensibly and ensure that shift runs smoothly.
    • Communicate general incidents (delays, failures, etc.) via the correct channels.
    • Identify potential failures, remedied with effective solutions.
    • Ensure down time is used effectively.
    • Optimize production output by constantly monitoring parameters.(Cut lengths, last cuts, shorts etc.)
    • Perform daily checks and monitoring on the machinery at the Cold end.
    • Ensure smooth operation of the Cold end area.
    • Complete incident reports and submit such to the Supervisor.
    • Investigate incidents and communicate findings and possible solutions timeously.
    • Implementation and monitoring of Occupational Health and Safety compliance.

    Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

    • Matric (Maths compulsory)
    • Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering
    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
    • Must have ability to detect machine discrepancies
    • Excellent Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production or mechanical environment
    • Self-motivated, self-driven individual able to perform well with minimum supervision
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions

    Boilershop Team Leader

    Job description:

    The Boilershop department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, reliable individual to join their team as a Boilermaker Team Leader. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Coordinate day-to-day activities and the flow of tasks and responsibilities
    • Drive C-Works maintenance system and ensure workshops utilization targets are met consistently
    • Coordinate and monitor quality and efficiency of work processes and inter-departmental work flow, report any issues or possible improvements to Maintenance Manager
    • Conduct spot checks on work progress and ensure quality control measures are implemented
    • Attend, oversee and assist with repairs and maintenance of existing components
    • Assist the Maintenance Manager with coordinating repairs and maintenance tasks
    • Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure all team members comply with the safe working procedures
    • Generate job cards as needed and manage the distribution thereof to the various teams
    • Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Provide daily feedback on work status to the Maintenance manager
    • Support the Maintenance manager in ensuring compliance to timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs
    • Any other tasks including administrative functions such as completing timesheets, filing, reports as agreed with the Maintenance Manager, suited to this level of responsibility

    Qualifying Criteria

    • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
    • Qualified Boilermaker/Welding Red Seal Trade Test certificate
    • Valid driver’s license and Own reliable transport
    • Experience in a similar role
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in a coordinating or similar role
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Qualified Boilermaker/Welder
    • Must be fully Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
    • Must have Strong proven administrative skills
    • Experience working with an Electronic Maintenance system
    • Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act
    • Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English)
    • Must be prepared to work overtime when required
