    Process Engineer

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Assist with process design including, development of mass and energy balances, flowsheets, P&IDs, design criteria, control philosophy and operating costs.
    • Supervise the process components of scoping and pre-feasibility studies.
    • Assist with metallurgical testwork programmes.
    • Assist with commissioning activities.
    • Interpret metallurgical testwork.
    • Preparation of process components of study documents.
    • Assist with process design including:
    • Mass balances
    • Flowsheets
    • P&IDs
    • Design Criteria
    • Control Philosophy
    • Calculations (Pumps, screens etc.)
    • Develop operating costs.

    • Assist with commissioning activities which will include onsite in remote locations.

     The expertise you'll bring

    • Tertiary level education in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy
    • 3+ years’ proven industry experience, preferably in a minerals processing or project delivery environment.
    • Cape Town based.
    • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident. 
    • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
    • Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

    QA Manager

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Develop, implement, and maintain the Company Quality Management Plan and System.
    • Ensure that the QA Management Plans, and dependent systems and procedures continue to meet the required quality standards of the Company, Client and Regulation.
    • Maintain the consistent quality of contracts administration and management including alignment with the requirements of the Company cost, schedule, quality, governance and risk.
    • Ensure quality requirements are being met for contracts throughout execution, through documentation review and inspections.
    • Manage, track and coordinate customer review and approval of project quality deliverables.
    • Manage non-compliance processes for service contracts, including support of cost recovery efforts with the Procurement Group.
    • Manage non-compliance processes for ADP internal activities, including resolution of customer-issued NCRs for projects.
    • Liaise with client QA representative, where appointed.
    • Support the Project Managers and/Project Engineers in their preparation of project specific plans and procedures.
    • Ensure Project Management Plans and dependent systems and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with the requirements of Company systems, Client systems, regulatory and contractual requirements.
    • Arrange or conduct audits or documented review, to verify the effective establishment of project management processes, systems and procedures fully compliant with contractual obligations.
    • Assist the Project Managers and/Project Engineers to rectify deficiencies identified in the full implementation of management system processes and procedures.
    • Ensure effective planning and implementation of design control, verification, validation and review activities.
    • Liaise with the Procurement Manager Officer during subcontractor or supplier evaluation and negotiation to establish the suitability of proposed Quality Management Systems for the products or services to be supplied.
    • Assist Requisitioning Engineers in review of Inspection and Test Plans and include nomination of independent inspection / verification “Hold” and “Witness” points where appropriate.
    • To ensure implementation and verification of construction inspection and testing activities.
    • Input quality progress data for project reports on behalf of the Project Manager.
    • Manage non-conformance corrective action and preventive actions and ensure investigation, follow-up actions are effectively implemented.
    • Assign experienced and qualified personnel to perform auditing and inspection activities.
    • Arrange or conduct ongoing audits and surveillance visits to ensure conformance with agreed practices and the maintenance of project records at project offices and subcontractor or supplier locations as determined by auditing plans
    • Effective implementation of “change management” throughout the life of the project.
    • Travel to vendor and project sites where required.
    • Promote and support the Health, Safety, Environmental and Security function to ensure Group compliance with Company procedures and standards.
    • Provide direction and support to all direct and functional reports.
    • Work collaboratively with personnel across all ADP Group and Lycopodium business units.
    • Maintain compliance with the company’s Corporate Governance Manual and the Risk Management Procedure.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • Appropriate, relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent industry experience in Quality Assurance
    • 10+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance roles within mineral processing and/or related industries.
    • Strong technical experience including welding, NDT, painting and assembly works.

    Instrument Design Engineer (Digital Design)

    The tasks you'll perform (not exhaustive):

    • Perform control and instrumentation engineering designs and calculations.
    • Generation and compilation of engineering and equipment specifications with a specific focus on database driven design tools.
    • Generation and compilation of engineering lists with a specific focus on database driven design tools.
    • Develop instrumentation drawings that are consistent with industry standard techniques that comply with drawing office/CAD/Instrumentation Procedures with a specific focus on the use of database driven design tools.
    • Development of templates for use in database driven design tools.
    • Generation and compilation of engineering and equipment specifications utilising database driven design tools.
    • Preparation of drawing deliverables such as block diagrams, termination drawings, loop diagrams, hookup diagrams, schematics and general arrangement drawings with a specific focus on database driven design tools.
    • Assist with the preparation of Study and EPCM documentation.
    • Generation, compilation and maintenance of electrical and instrument lists.
    • Review, evaluation and selection recommendations for vendor equipment.
    • Review of vendor certified documentation (drawings, data sheets, manuals, etc.) and responsibility for the dissemination of vendor information to discipline engineers / drafting resources for interface checking.
    • Provide material quantity take-offs, as and when required.
    • Assist with on-site engineering, commissioning and administration activities, where required.
    • Database management.
    • Conduct literature surveys.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Tertiary level qualification in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
    • 5+ years proven, relevant post graduate experience post graduating with a specific focus on database driven design tools.
    • Professional Registration advantageous.

    Principal Electrical Engineer

    Based in Cape Town and reporting to the EC&I Manager, the position will involve but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

    • Proficiently managing the coordination and production of design outputs that are fit for purpose and in alignment with Project and Study.
    • Provide proficient and accurate design input for the production of Electrical drawings.
    • Maintain the quality of output produced from the appointed discipline team to ensure deliverables are met to high-level of accuracy.
    • Develop and monitor the production of designs in accordance with Project, Client and regulatory standards.

    • Conduct timely reviews of Project Electrical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent.
    • Approve, guide and review engineering designs, including calculations and design development.

    • Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
    • Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
    • Provide assistance to monitor the design and drafting progress.
    • Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
    • Approve and assist with the delivery of accurate engineering deliverables including but not limited to load lists, motor lists, cable schedules, single line diagrams, schematics, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings and panel layouts etc.
    • Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the discipline by planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure deliverables are met.
    • Approve and assist with the delivery of accurate material take-offs as and when required.
    • Evaluate and approve tenders, provide technical recommendations for the purchase of Electrical equipment from vendors where necessary.
    • Review and approve certified vendor documentation and disseminate the information to the appropriate personnel for interface checking.
    • Interdisciplinary co-ordination of technical aspects of the design.
    • Approve and assist with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
    • Understand and educate the team of the latest developments to Industry and Project specific codes, standards and related engineering matters.
    • Register and file all relevant engineering documentation in accordance with the Company approved procedures.
    • Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
    • Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the discipline by planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure deliverables are met.
    • Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.
    • Suggest methods to improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
    • Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
    • Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.

    • 15+ YEARS' proven experience, preferably in the EPCM environment.

    Manager: Commercial & Project Services

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Maintain the consistent quality of contracts administration and management including alignment with the requirements of the Company cost, schedule, quality, governance and risk.
    • Provide contract and commercial support services to the process, engineering, projects, studies and BD groups.
    • Report to the Managing Director on a monthly basis, presenting a true and fair view of Group’s performance, results and any issues and concerns.
    • Manage proposal and tender reviews and approval processes, involving key internal stakeholders, so completed proposals meet required standards of the Client’s requirements prior to issue and ultimately maximise probabilities of successful conversion of secured work.
    • Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.

    • Ensure all projects and studies are adequately resourced, in a timely manner with experienced personnel and support the Group’s professional development.

    • Develop contract management plans, schedules and budgets for each contract to ensure that the contracts and procurement functions are delivered in accordance with these controls.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • Undergraduate qualifications in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain management or Engineering.
    • Post-graduate qualification in Contract Law is advantageous.
    • 15+ years’ experience in contract and procurement management role(s) on substantial resources projects.

    • Previous experience in management and leading large teams of people.
    • Extensive international work experience and/or experience working on complex contracts and strategic procurement initiatives.
