    Executive Head: Merchant Acquiring

    Role Purpose:

    • As part of its broader Financial Services strategy, Vodacom Financial Services (VFS) launched its merchant acquiring business and has already established a meaningful presence in the market. 
    • VFS has developed a comprehensive set of acquiring solutions. This includes its own Android POS Solution as well as a broad range of Online Payments processing capabilities allowing it to offer merchants a full-scale acquiring solution across physical and digital channels in a single acquiring relationship. The role will play a pivotal role in incorporating the broader VFS products and services into a single Enterprise proposition for merchants. 
    • The Executive Head of Acquiring leads all the Product, Commercial and Operational areas of the business. The role will ensure that VFS delivers the most attractive product design benchmarked against industry best practices for user experience, both local and international. The role will work closely with supporting areas of the business such as IT and Risk & Compliance to ensure that the business to ensure that strategic business objectives are delivered and that VFS becomes a significant participant in the South African acquiring landscape. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • End to end commercial accountability for performance of the Merchant Acquiring business
    • Lead the Product team in conceptualisation and development of products that deliver valuable and unique customer propositions.
    • Overseeing the development of all relevant documentation, providing inputs and evaluation for financial business cases, defining business rules and working with customer experience teams to define and refine existing and new customer journeys
    • Drive business growth by implementing merchant retention strategies ensuring the highest rates of merchant activity rates across the acquiring book, and in so doing optimising the cost of merchant acquisition  
    • Ensure that the team regularly reviews launched products to ensure the performance is in line with initial assumptions and implement corrective measures if needed and also look at how to improve/enhance products
    • Development and attainment of operational KPI’s based on industry best practices, ensuring that VFS delivers the highest standards of customer care in the industry 
    • The full life cycle of Hardware procurement including the requisite terminal software and management components required to support the acquiring business in the most efficient and profitable manner    
    • Monthly business performance presentations for an audience consisting of managing executives
    • Recruitment of the correct Product skills into the team and on-going management of performance of each team member 

    Leadership and teamwork

    • Provide inspirational leadership and coaching across the VFS Acquiring team to deliver on commercial outcomes 
    • Create a high level of employee engagement to deliver best in class acquiring payments solutions 
    • Develop individuals within the team with real-time coaching, feedback and timely career and succession planning, ensuring that each individual has a documented personal development plan

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical/professional qualifications: 

    • 3-year Business-related Degree. Post-graduate management qualification (i.e.; MBA) is desirable
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in Payments Acquiring industry 
    • Leadership/Management/Supervisory experience (essential)
    • Creating strategic plans to win market share from competitors

    Specialist: Automation & Transformation

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To continuously transform business processes through intelligent automation, tracking and reporting on business benefits. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Participate in opportunity assessment workshops to have an enhanced understanding of the Business Unit strategic imperatives. This includes, but not limited to documenting As-Is processes with the assistance of business subject matter experts. 
    • Identify opportunities for simplification/eradicate inefficiencies. Specialists are expected to identify pain points associated with the business process. Workshops for simplification or inefficiency eradication are then documented and sign-off by the business process owner. 
    • Highlight opportunities to implement intelligent automation and classify the business benefits linked to the identified initiatives. 
    • Sprint Execution: All the above expectations are to be executed using the laid out agile methodologies. The requirement is for the identified individuals to participate in agreed agile ceremonies to ensure that we deliver business value and unlock our spirit of experiment and learn fast

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Bcom degree or relevant other qualification 
    • Business post-grad diploma preferrable 
    • 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst 
    • 3 years RPA & Intelligent Automation proven experience

    Senior Specialist: IB Intelligence

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Upskill identified Vodacom International Business, market analysts
    • Work closely with teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design
    • Unlock a holistic Digital Transformation framework and strategy in the International Business markets.
    • Analyses business processes, identify potential automation opportunities, and propose a Plan of Intelligent Automation strategy.
    • Identify and unlock opportunities to re-use and scale automation processes across all the Vodacom African markets
    • Providing the solution proposal by checking the scalability of the Intelligent Automation architecture.
    • Ensure standards for Analysis and documentation is maintained.
    • Assist market squads by providing insights for business benefits 
    • Unlock and execute on Group process re-useability strategy
    • Execute on best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve levels of digitisation and quality of output

    Have clear understanding of:

    • End-to-end processes assessment, 
    • Ability to articulate inefficiencies in the system 
    • Re-engineer and radically simply processes
    • Identify processes that are fit for re-use across the various markets
    • Identify opportunities for digitisation using various technologies, which include, but not limited to Robotics Process Automation, Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, Optical Character Recognition, etc
    • Understand customer experience and data insights to inform value ads in the process.
    • Must be able to manage/ cross IB market end-to-end processes
    • Create and maintain a standard of building quality business case for intelligent automation
    • Report on deviations that could derail the achievements against targets
    • Lead and facilitate compilation of business cases for reengineering and automation 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Promote a service mentality and develop strong relationships with finance, consumer, business and technology areas 
    • Support alignment of activities and objectives across the Vodacom Digital Process Re-Engineering team. 
    • Unlock group process re-useability strategy
    • Ensure that IB market resources are coordinated in BA documentation standards
    • Ensure constant knowledge of Artificial Intelligence industry in relation to process automation is maintained
    • Execute on strategy growth opportunities in the Intelligent Automation space
    • Guide IB market BA’s in developing, configuring and optimizing automation processes from inception through to deployment
    • Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
    • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve customer experience, fast track revenue generation and capex/opex spend reduction
    • Perform risk assessments
    • Quantify business benefits linked to digitisation
    • Perform post-implementation review
    • Guide all markets on Intelligent Automation best practice standards 

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Post Grad Degree in Commerce or Information Technology; Engineering degrees will be considered with demonstrated Business Analyst experience 
    • 5-7 years experience performing process improvements, with a strong preference for candidates with automation and consultancy industry experience.
    • Min 4 years of RPA hands-on experience. 
    • Strong working knowledge of concepts like Intelligent Automation
    • At least 5 to 7 end-to-end implementations.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
    • Ability to influence and get stakeholder buy-in
    • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
    • Ability to apply a disciplined experimental and design thinking approach to solving problems using data and current statistical tools

    Skills

    • Basic know-how of infrastructure topologies. 
    • In-depth knowledge of business process modeling with exposure to business process modelling. 
    • Ability to run design-thinking workshop for process re-engineering and process optimization. 
    • Process development. 
    • Ability to build a business case for digitisation
