    Visa Digital Consulting Manager

    Position Summary

    • The Visa Consulting & Analytics Manager will undertake consulting engagements for SSA  markets, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability in clients’ credit and debit payment card business.
    • Potential projects could include portfolio management diagnostics, assessments of digital product and marketing strategies, development of industry landscape evaluations and best practices, and optimizing client customer experience and supporting processes. 
    • Working with the Senior Director and collaborating with other team members in VCA and Visa SSA, the Manager will draw on their deep domain knowledge and expertise to provide recommendations to clients, work that will enable enduring, strategic relationships with our clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and surface opportunities for client projects and submit for inclusion into plans.
    • Design performance solutions to client requirements, striving for innovative and efficient approaches.
    • Undertake client projects, including project road mapping, client interviewing, analytical review of inputs, structuring of recommendations, report writing.
    • Bring deep subject matter expertise to bear in undertaking engagements such as portfolio strategy, portfolio diagnostics, and Acquisition and Loyalty program health checks.
    • Create, develop and maintain models, contribute to IP creation and standardized VCA offerings
    • Conceive and brief to the Analytics team projects including segmentation, propensity models, and other intelligent targeting solutions.
    • Defining the scope, understanding clients objectives, framing the problem or opportunity
    • Collecting and analyzing input such as client information, interviews, data, processes,policies, competitive and environmental information
    • Synthesizing analysis to determine gaps, issues, opportunities
    • Identifying solutions such as strategies, tactics or programs of activity
    • Recommending approaches, providing guidance and at times physically supporting implementation at the client site
    • Facilitate meetings and workshops as an element of client engagements, to enable creative problem solving and/or transfer domain knowledge, helping clients to realize project objectives across multiple client teams/functions.
    • Foster partnership with other internal functional areas, ensuring alignment of opportunities and recommendations particularly with product functionality and availability.
    • Where employee is a subject matter expert, provide knowledge sharing, coaching and training across functional teams and/or regions.

    Qualifications

    • You will have gained a variety of experience in the payments industry, including card issuing, and be passionate about an aspect that you have gained deeper expertise in, be it loyalty, product, credit risk, operations or another vertical. You will comfortably pivot from strategy development to program execution. Whilst you will work closely with the Senior Director to frame client engagements, you will confidently take the lead in client interactions

    Specific requirements are:

    • Understanding of card issuers’ P&L and critical factors
    • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Be very detail oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis

    Director Large Programs

    Position Summary

    • The Visa Consulting & Analytics Director is a senior role in the Sub-Saharan African consulting team (SSA). We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and analytical thinker with main ability to deliver data driven solutions through a consultative approach.

    In this role, you are expected to deliver across multiple key areas:

    • Design, develop and implement end to end strategic programs across multiple areas as ew product development, customer life cycle management, digital innovation, and risk that are data driven for our clients. Develop high-impact storyboards that promote data-driven strategies and solutions.
    • This role is dedicated exclusively to working on a key regional client head quartered in South Africa and will require presence at client premises and travel to other markets.  
    • This person is expected to be the go-to person to advise on large programs designs across SSA.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Design and deliver Consulting and Analytics programs by identifying innovative opportunities around data and data-related processes that will help our clients implement fact-based decisioning processes within their card & payment programs
    • Resolve complex strategic problems and set strategic direction and roadmap for client program delivery across multiple topics as new products, portfolio management, loyalty, strategy, digital, risk and implementation support services.  
    • Synthesize and manage complex project structures especially with clients that have multiple affiliates. Manage, facilitate, and implement analytics and consulting services and meet clients business targets in an efficient manner by creating synergies to deliver across multiple markets. (assignment objectives, project scope, budget, paperwork, external consultants supervision and project delivery).
    • Work closely with other VISA groups, including Product, Marketing, Client services etc., to ensure a seamless Consulting experience in the countries of focus.
    • Work with a broader team that consists of Business Managers, Consultants and Data Scientists from both Visa and client organizations to strategize, co-create, deploy and reap the benefits of data-driven solutions
    • Review, direct, guide, and inspire the consulting and analytical work of junior members in the team
    • Collaborate with internal Technology partners and Data Engineering function to best leverage Visa internal technology platforms, data, and the broader Visa ecosystem to support our clients technical data needs
    • Develop project pitches and secure new assignments with client, as well as re-engagements opportunities via a consultative sales approach to assigned client
    • Develop and deliver client-training programs and impart best practices knowledge sharing to VISA clients.
    • Where appropriate, work with designated practice areas globally to incorporate best practice, source analytical or other services and leverage global consulting solutions.
    • Manage the VISA Consulting budget and resources to perform all required duties.
    • Liaise with VISA functional teams (Finance, Audit, Legal, Tax, Sourcing) to define and implement processes to optimize the daily engagement of vendors and the relationships with clients.
    • Manage workload for self and any direct reports, providing prioritization guidance for project flow to improve process efficiency
    • Manage and grow talent within the team
    • Develop, share, and build global best practices and knowledge management within the team
    • Socialize innovative ideas and approaches that are scalable and have market demand
    • Comply with internal requirements around Model Risk Management, Visa Analytics Rules, and Global Privacy standards around client delivery to ensure that Visa is highly regarded market standing is maintained
    • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.     Qualifications
    Professional experience

    • Over 12 years of solid experience gained within the financial services industry. Preferable worked in the FI practice of a top-tier consulting firm.
    • Experience working in one or more of the Card and Payments markets around the globe - with specific responsibilities in payments, retail banking, or retail merchant industries.
    • Deep consulting skills and client engagement capabilities. Advanced client management and presentation skills. Credibility with clients and working teams and diplomatic skills to extract desired outcomes. Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management of clients and VISA.
    • Post-graduate degree desired
    • Good understanding of Payments and the Banking industry, including card verticals such as consumer credit, consumer debit, prepaid, small business, commercial, co-branded and merchant
    • Highly analytical with advanced PowerPoint skills and Excel skills
    • Superior project management skills. Fluent communicator
    • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative with limited direction
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with inter-disciplinary groups.

    Senior Manager - Consulting

    Job Description

    • The Visa Consulting Senior Manager will be a key member of the VCA organization in SSA and will contribute to the commercial traction, product development and thought leadership across practice areas. The role will also deliver subject matter expertise and consulting support to VISA key clients across clusters. The main objective of the role is to help deepen client relationships and optimize client performance by helping them design and assess their payments strategy and implement initiatives to capture the full potential from enhancing customers engagement.

    Principal Responsibilities and Key Results Area

    • Collaborate with VCA colleagues, Visa account executives and other Visa functions to cultivate and manage a pipeline of engagement opportunities with the largest banks and merchants in the region
    • Lead and serve as a subject matter expert on consulting engagements across practice areas (portfolio, digital, risk) including but not limited to the following,
    • Using VISA and external data to analyze client needs across the focus markets and identify opportunities for consulting assignments with VISA key clients

    • At least 2 years of experience in management consulting and deep consulting skills and client engagement capabilities including
    • Experience in cards business inclusive of sales enablement, product development across segments and portfolio management.
    • Diplomatic skills to work in a multi-functional environment and ability to extract desired outcomes.
    • Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management of clients and VISA.
