Responsibilities and Duties
- Vegetable production planning
- Order seed to ensure no breaks in production
- Implements a JIT system
- Does monthly stock take and comparing sales / orders and stocks
- Checking of seeding operation and media preparation
- Ensuring ISO systems are followed in regards to seed preparation and sowing
- Capturing orders and updating the Plan-a-head system
- Assisting with vehicle licensing
- Ensure delivery schedules are followed
- Assist in drawing up a budget for annual production, sales and costing
- Capturing orders and doing confirmation of Orders
- Ensuring that plants leaving the nursery are in line with ISO 9001 quality specifications and customers own requirements
- ISO auditing when required
- Assisting with quotations
Qualifications and Skills
- Matric / Grade 12
- Diploma or degree in Forestry, Horticulture or Agriculture
- 2 – 4 years working experience in the nursery industry (advantageous)
- Ability to speak English, isiZulu and Afrikaans (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing to travel to see customers
- Willing to perform weekend duty and work public holidays when necessary
- Ability to work in a corporate environment

Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan the timber sowing with the assistance of the forestry director
- Order seed to ensure no breaks in production
- Check the quality of seeding when sowing
- Blanking and sorting timber
- Monthly stock take and comparing sales / orders and stocks
- Check stock levels to ensure orders are ready on time
- Grow seedlings to be ready as specific times to meet orders
- Check quality of plants for dispatching
- Ensure plants are sized and sorted before dispatching
- Follow up with customers on orders and sales
- Monthly reporting
- Assist in the administration of dispatching
- Coordinate deliveries
- Coordinate the dispatching of clonal material with the timber seedlings, ensuring the customer received plants according to the customer’s specific requirement
- Draw up budget for annual production, sales and costing
- Regular customer visits to build and develop relationships
- Capture orders and do confirmation of orders
- Manage the blanking team
- Draw up maintenance schedules
- Perform ISO audits, inspections
Qualifications and Skills
- Matric / Grade 12
- Diploma / Degree in Forestry, Horticulture or Agriculture
- 3-5 years working experience in the forestry or nursery industry
- Ability to speak isiZulu and Afrikaans (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport for travelling to neighboring countries
- Willing to travel to see customers
- Willing to work overtime
- Ability to learn and work under pressure
- Ability to endorse the organisation's product quality and services
