    Financial Planner: Northern Cape

    What will you do?

    • The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of a high quality, in accordance with the business targets set. Maintain and service these clients as part of a long- term relationship which builds loyalty to the brand and generates ongoing advice and sales. Undertake these activities within a compliant and ethical manner which results in the building and sustaining the Sanlam Group business and brand.

    • Provide sound personal financial planning advice.
    • Apply financial knowledge in putting together a plan that meets the needs of the client for a balanced portfolio.
    • Present financial solutions to the client in a professional and competent manner aligned to Treating Customers Fairly.
    • Use relevant processes and system tools to capture analysis information and update records accordingly.
    • Review clients portfolio annually by undertaking the above steps.

    Client Service

    • Ensure all client interactions are ethical, courteous and professional.
    • Follow-up or refer all existing business queries to be resolved timeously through back-office support.
    • Strive for excellent, value-added service to clients so that they do not seek competitor products or services.
    • Undertake continuous learning in terms of knowledge, skills and market/industry issues so as to service clients within the defined market.

    • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms, including report or dashboard development and data modeling.
    • Experience in customizing and configuring project support tools to meet specific requirements. 

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Strong technical skills with proficiency in project management software (e.g., PPO, Jira Align, Clarity), collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams,), and reporting tools (e.g, Power BI).

    Scrum Master

    What will you do?

    • The Scrum Master is co-located with a squad and together with the Product Owner, facilitates the processes which ensure value delivery. A Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for squads. You will help educate squad members in the required tools and frameworks, ensuring that the agreed agile process is being followed. You will also remove impediments and foster an environment of high-performance, continuous flow and relentless improvement.

    Senior Financial Manager: Actuarial Finance: SLS: Finance: JG: 13: Bellville

    What will you do?

    • The primary focus of the Senior Financial Manager: Actuarial Finance is to engage and facilitate integration between the Actuarial and Finance reporting environments.  The role is instrumental in reporting financial results that enables business in effective and efficient decision making.

    Outputs / Core Tasks:

    • Stakeholder management between SLS Actuarial and Finance Reporting teams.

    FLM/Product Owner: Systems Control

    Business Description

    • The Product Owner (PO)/ First Line Manager (FLM) is a member of the Squad, responsible for prioritizing the Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team. The PO has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team and ensuring stories meet the user’s needs and comply with the Definition of Done.
    • The PO/FLM works with business owners, insurance product actuaries, release train engineers, squad members, business consultants, users, project managers, architects, and other team members to define non-functional requirements.

    What will you do?

    Preparation and participation in PI planning

    • As a member of the extended product management team, the PO is heavily involved in backlog refinement, preparation for PI planning and plays a significant role in the planning event itself along with the squad.  
    • Prior to PI planning the PO has primary responsibility for building, editing, and maintaining the squad’s backlog.  Backlog items are prioritised based on user value, time and other team dependencies determined in the PI planning meeting.
    • Together with product management and the squad, the PO enables continuous flow of value through the delivery of small valuable features.

    Iteration Execution

    • The PO participates in iteration planning ceremonies and assists the squad with sequencing delivery.
    • Supported by the squad, the PO identifies dependencies and coordinates the addressing of dependencies with other product owners as input to the final iteration plan.
    • The PO also participates in cadences like discovery & elaboration, PO sync and mid-iteration check points. 

    Management of Quality Engineers

    • Ensure Goal setting is done for each member.
    • Assist each member with career planning and a development plan.
    • Ability to manage and develop the quality engineers.
    • Have at least 2 formal performance review discussion with each member, 1 mid-year and 1 end-year.
    • Evaluate performance in an objective and fair way and where required address poor performance in accordance with the HR processes and procedures.
    • Provide input into Talent Management and Retention grid.
    • Motivate team members to set and reach their own daily targets to increase morale.
