    Manager IM Operations

    Position Overview:

    • We are seeking a visionary and strategic Manager of IM Operations to lead our complex network infrastructure and multidisciplinary teams. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational excellence of our IT and OT systems, supporting business continuity, and driving digital transformation initiatives. If you are passionate about integrating Information Management (IM) solutions and leading a high-performing team, this is the role for you.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Essential/Minimum or)
    • B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
    • Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 10-12 years Proven experience (including at least 5 years management experience at a senior level) and technical expertise in creating and implementing IM strategies. Proven delivery of successful IM projects aligned with long- term business objectives.
    • Strong understanding of mining operations and related technology requirements. Solid experience in cybersecurity, risk management, business continuity, data management, solution design and due diligence exercises.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience engaging with and managing cross-functional teams, consultants, vendors, auditors and similar.
    • Experience in managing information technology projects, change management interventions and budgets.
    • Familiarity with industry-specific software and applications (e.g., OT applications) advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, compliance, and privacy requirements in the mining sector, e.g., GDPR and POPIA  (Essential/Minimum) Management

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

    Ability to:

    • Ensure operational excellence by managing complex network infrastructure and multidisciplinary teams. 
    • To support seamless integration and functionality of critical IT and OT systems essential to enable business operations. 
    • To ensure infrastructure can adapt to changing operational needs and technological advancements.
    • To provide strategic direction and technical expertise for integrating Information Management (IM) solutions into the Business Unit’s (BU’s) business and mining operations.
    • Lead BU’s IM portfolio to ensure availability, reliability, and compliance to IM governance. 
    • Execute technology initiatives for process improvement and digital transformation. 
    • Oversee vendor relationships, project management, and strategic alignment. 
    • Provide leadership to the BU IM team for successful strategy execution and team development.

    Senior Specialist, People and Performance Governance

    Position Overview:

    • As the Senior Specialist in People & Performance Governance, you will be instrumental in managing business risk and ensuring robust governance within our People and Performance processes. Your role will involve developing and implementing targeted initiatives and process amendments to address governance and risk deficiencies proactively. You will oversee governance and risk monitoring, assurance, and reporting, ensuring alignment with our organizational strategy and compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
    • BCom (Hons) Risk Management (Essential/Minimum)
    • Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
    • PG Diploma in Forensic Auditing (Recommended/Desirable)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 6-8 years proven experience of solution delivery in the field of process governance and assurance. Highly specialised in process risk identification and mitigation. Strong understanding of the people and performance process risk management, mitigation, and policy formulation. Business process mapping and re-engineering and Project management experience. (Essential/Minimum) (Management)

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
    • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
    • The Institute of Risk Management SA (Recommended/Desirable)
    • PMI Risk Management Professional (Recommended/Desirable)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

    Ability to:

    • Act as first line support to manage business risk and governance within People and Performance process for the Exxaro Group. 
    • Develop and implement appropriate initiatives and process amendments to proactively address identified governance or risk deficiencies (process and policy). 
    • Manage governance and risk related monitoring, assurance, and reporting, aligned with organisational strategy and comply with industry regulations and best practices. 
    • Establish, manage and facilitate People and Performance Governance forums. 
    • Provide specialist support and capability building to individuals teams and Business Units in creating awareness and driving governance and risk management related interventions. 
    • Collaborate with management, employees, internal audit, service providers and related implementation partners to appropriately mitigate governance and assurance risks within People and Performance.

    Senior Specialist, Wellness

    Position Overview:

    • As the Senior Specialist, Wellness, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful rollout and management of Exxaro’s comprehensive employee wellness strategy. Your focus will be on delivering a centralised implementation and advisory service that ensures our wellness initiatives are impactful, aligned with our organizational goals, and comply with industry best practices.

    • PG Diploma in Business Management (Recommended/Desirable)

    EXPERIENCE:

Strong understanding of the health and safety challenges in the South African mining industry. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.  (Essential/Minimum) Management

    • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
    • Reg: South African Occup Health Society (Recommended/Desirable)
    • Reg: Health Profession Council of SA (Recommended/Desirable)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

    Ability to:

    • Manage the roll out of the Group employee wellness programme and provide a centralised implementation and advisory service to the Group of companies in terms of Exxaro’s group employee wellness strategy, key initiatives, and related policies. 
    • To foster a supportive, healthy, and safe work environment by developing, implementing, and managing wellness programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional health, and occupational safety. 
    • To manage employee wellness related monitoring and assurance, ensuring that wellness initiatives are aligned with organisational goals and comply with industry regulations and best practices. 
    • To manage and facilitate targeted wellness forums and Group wide programmes across the company.
    • To provide specialist support and guidance to individual teams and Business Units in creating awareness and driving bespoke wellness campaigns and related interventions. 
    • To collaborate with management, employees, healthcare providers and related implementation partners across the process in fostering a positive culture of health and safety within the company.
