    Waiter/Waitress

    Description

    Here at the Mount Nelson, we offer incredible brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner experiences. Our Food and Beverage Department ensures seamless service, orchestrated by the attentive, knowledgeable and approachable staff, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work with a driven and passionate team focused on providing an incomparable experience. We are looking for a F&B attendant to join the Oasis Food & Beverage team.

     

    • To be fully aware of all services and facilities offered by the Hotel.

    • Staying up to date with the food and beverage offerings on the menu.

    • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies).

    • Greet and escort customers to their tables.

    • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies). To take guest orders and ensure proper execution.

    • Setting up and replenishing of napkins, toothpicks, ashtrays, and other counter items when necessary.

    • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, glasses, condiments, cushions and any other items required for set up.

    • Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations upon request.

    • Ensure adherence to service and clearance procedures at all times.

    • Assist in keeping the outlet clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing dirty glassware and dishes, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying the trash bins.

    • Complete all daily duties as set out in departmental duties and procedures.

    • Ensure that the dining and or bar area, waitron stations, back of house preparation areas and all equipment such as tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, buffet equipment and utensils etc. are cleaned and polished at all times.

    • Provide excellent customer service to guests at all times and ensure guest complaints are addressed or reported in a timely manner.

    • Ensure that guest preferences and feedback is communicated to Management to enhance the guest experience.

    • Perform all food & beverage activities, which includes but is not limited to providing room service, bar duties, special set-ups and other related activities.

    • Assist with inventory management or stock count when required.

    • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, and balancing the cash register.

    • Assist with the set up and break down of tables and other venue set up requirements at special functions and events, as well as working at the special functions and events, as and when required.

    • Taking inventory and ordering supplies (with the approval of the Outlet Manager) to ensure the outlet and table supplies are well-stocked.

    • Assist with the preparation of beverages (which includes hot and cold beverages) as and when required.

    • Up-sell additional products when appropriate.

    • Constantly check crockery and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.

    • Assist with other duties as and when required by management.

    • Assist with rooming guests and luggage duties as and when required.

    Requirements

    • Hospitality qualification advantageous.

    • 1- 2 years relevant experience in a similar position within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Exceptional customer service orientation.

    • The ability to work in high pressure situations.

    • Knowledge of silverware – advantageous.

    • Good knowledge and understanding of food and wine.

    Housekeeping Attendant

    Description

Our remarkable Housekeeping team ensures each space is worth writing home about. If you have exceptional attention to detail, consistency of service standards and the determination to exceed our guests’ expectations, we would love to hear from you. Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Housekeeping Attendant to join the team.

     

    • Cleaning the guest’s room and bathroom according to departmental standards.

    • Stock the linen trolley with correct linen, guest supplies and ensure the trolley and linen store room is kept neat and tidy.

    • Maintain hygiene standards throughout the property by ensuring constant cleaning and sanitising of all touch points.

    • Ensure all housekeeping stock items are returned to stores to avoid wastage and to control cost.

    • Performs any other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Management.

    • Dust lamps, light bulbs and checks all lights are in good working condition.

    • Dust skirting boards and all furniture pieces in guest rooms.

    • Vacuum the carpet in guest rooms and corridors.

    • Mop and wash the bathroom and bedroom floor surfaces.

    • Ensure that the flowers in the guest room are fresh, clean vases and fill with clean water.

    • Wipe and clean balcony furniture and sweep and mop the balcony tiles.

    • Remove any in room dining trays from the guest room.

    • Clean cups, saucers and coffee station in guest rooms.

    • Replenish coffee, tea and milk and other requirements.

    • Replace and add required guest amenities and collateral.

    • Replenish the laundry bags, and laundry and dry-cleaning slips.

    • Report all lost and found items to Security.

    • Report guest valuables found in the guest rooms.

    • Report any maintenance defects in the rooms and corridors when necessary.

    • Complete the discrepancy room report on a daily basis.

    • Complete the LQA checklist on a daily basis according to departmental standard.

    • Ensure that all assigned rooms are clean and inspected by the end of your shift.

    • Ensure proper use and care of all cleaning equipment.

    • Assist in other areas of the Housekeeping Department as and when required.

    Requirements

    • 2 years’ experience in a similar position, within a 5-star environment (advantageous).

    • Team and goal orientated.

    • Previous experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products.
