    Technical Advisor: Psychosocial - Johannesburg

    • We are looking for a Technical Advisor who will be developing and implementing activities aimed at strengthening psychosocial support, adherence & retention for Adolescents and Youth including scale up of HIV testing, care and support for adolescents and youths in and outside DoH health facilities.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Oversee implementation of ANOVA’s APACE Psychosocial support (PSS) activities at facility level, in line with APACE strategy & workplan.
    • Oversee implementation of Youth care clubs to provide comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment, psychological/adherence support and SRHR services to adolescents, including distribution of pre-packed medication/ART.
    • Mentor and support Youth care club facilitator to provide psychosocial support through implementation of Youth Care Clubs.
    • Promote PrEP and facilitate recruitment and enrolment of AGYW onto PrEP through engaging with various adolescent and youth organisations & facilities.
    • Provide training & mentorship to relevant staff (Internal & external staff) on key issues related to Management of Adolescents living with HIV or at risk of contracting HIV (PrEP, psychosocial, Disclosure, Adherence support, AYFS etc.)
    • Responsible for coaching & mentoring ANOVA & DOH Auxiliary Workers, counsellors, HC’s and YCC’s on psychosocial support for PLHIV & enhanced adherence support.
    • Strengthen referral linkages within the health system, especially between health facilities and CBOs, in collaboration with ANOVA community team, other APACE team team members in ANOVA and DOH stakeholders such as school health nurses, Community Health Workers, nurses, and social workers.
    • Compile monthly, quarterly & adhoc reports on the programme implementation and progress.
    • Follow performance management process of Anova through timeous submission of all relevant documentation for line staff.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Degree in Social work, Social Science or relevant health related qualification.
    • Registration with the relevant South African Council or Professional Body
    • At least 2-5 years of experience working in Youth and/or HIV programmes, including supervising Social Auxiliary workers or other junior staff
    • Training in I-ACT and NAS (National Adherence Strategy) is advantageous
    • Good presentation and excellent communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    • Good report writing skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office

    Technical Advisor: Paediatrics and Adolescents - Johannesburg

    • We are looking for Technical Advisor: Paediatric and Adolescent  to oversee implementation of paediatric and adolescent HIV related activities in line with 90-90-90 HIV/TB strategy at District, sub-district & facility level. This will include serving as an expert resource on paediatric and adolescent HIV to both Anova and Department of Health (DoH) Staff, ensuring that programmatic activities and goals are achieved, including programme review, senior medical expertise, quality improvement initiatives and stakeholder management

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Provide technical and clinical support on paediatric and adolescent HIV including TA (mentoring and coaching and training) to DoH and Anova staff as dictated by the work plans
    • Conduct NIMART, Basic TB and any other HIV/TB/PMTCT and related trainings that supports the current needs of the department of health as the need arises
    • Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation team to review facility data and provide feedback to clinics
    • Represent Anova Health Institute on relevant working and technical advisory bodies and at district, provincial and national PMTCT conferences and meetings; as requested
    • Identify innovative projects that can be implemented to improve performance of the paediatric and adolescent HIV programme and ensure that all project deliverables are met in a high quality, cost effective and timely fashion
    • Facilitate improvement in linkages to OVC partners
    • Take lead in ensuring performance monitoring systems for paediatric and adolescent HIV are operating effectively
    • Compile monthly & quarterly regular for Anova, Funders and DOH as required
    • Engage and support managers at the facility, regional, district and provincial levels
    • Conduct operational research/enquiries in to order to keep abreast of paediatric and adolescent HIV issues and add to the pool of knowledge within Anova

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • MBChB or Nursing degree or diploma
    • Valid registration with HPCSA and SANC
    • At least 5 years post community service clinical experience for Nurses and two years post community service experience for medical doctors
    • At least 1 years’ experience working in technical leadership, oversight, design and implementation of PMTCT and/or paediatric HIV related programmes
    • At least 1-year experience managing paediatric HIV/TB patients
    • Familiar with WHO HSS building blocks and QI methodology
    • Knowledge of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART), TB and Chronic Medication and guidelines
    • Knowledge of latest HIV/TB/PMTCT guidelines.
    • Knowledge of 90-90-90 strategy and other Health related policies
    • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience with management of (donor) public health programmes, an advantage

    Community Linkage Officer - Phalaborwa

    We are looking for a Community Linkage Officer who will be responsible for HTS and ensure that proper linkage to care of all HIV infected patients is done according to DoH guidelines.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Mobilising people in the communities to encourage them to get tested prior screening
    • Provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients
    • Be available to assist all clients tested for HIV in the facility and from the community outreach sites
    • Ensure that all clients tested positive are linked into care
    • Provide Index testing to all HIV positive clients found in the community
    • Keep proper records of clients who are tested and initiated on ART
    • Attend program meetings as required to discuss HTS/HIV/TB/STI related issues
    • Give Health education on HIV/TB and STI
    • Ensure Quality testing by adhering to RTCQI standards

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • At least 2 years’ experience working as a HTS counsellor preferably in the community setting
    • Certificate in Basic Hast, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling
    • Knowledge of DoH, HTS guidelines and protocols
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team
    • Be able to work with little supervision
    • Good communication skills

    Pharmacist Assistant Mentor - Phalaborwa

    We are looking for a Pharmacist Assistant Mentor to form part of Anova Pharmacy team and support the implementation, Decanting and CCMDD programme at all Anova supported facilities. Ensure facilities are compliant with Basic Pharmacy principles, implementation and maintenance of CCMDD programme.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practice
    • Provide mentorship and support to ensure that adequate levels of stock are available
    • Provide support and mentorship to all PAM's on the implementation of Good Pharmacy Practice, Ideal Clinic and SIMS in all their supported facilities
    • Medicine supply management ( FIFO/FEFO, Stock re-order factor, Cold-chain)
    • Maintenance of stock visibility solution (SVS)
    • Support CCMDD and decanting (Mentorship on Repeat Prescription Collections (RPC) & Dablapmeds in supported facilities)
    • Monitoring and maintenance of performance of the Dablapmeds program
    • Support the retention of accurate and updated records on pharmacy activities & decanting
    • Perform duties of Pharmacist Assistance such as dispensing, drug supply management etc. in line with Scope of Practice
    • Identify training needs for facility staff (DOH and Anova staff) and facilitate training provision to meet requirements
    • Represent Anova in stakeholder meetings and workshops when requested

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Registered as a Post basic Pharmacist Assistant with SAPC
    • Annual fees and all requirements must be up to date
    • At least 1 year experience on HIV/AIDS treatment regimen and adherence issues
    • Understand public health system (How public hospitals and clinics work)
    • Understanding of ART, TB and general medication

    Project Officer - Greater Letaba Rural

    • We are looking for a Project Officer for the Ward Based Primary Health Care Outreach Team (WBPHCOT) to supervise the Community Health Workers (CHWs) in the communities and link their duties to facilities, to implement the WBPHCOT program and strengthen it in communities and facilities. The incumbent/s will also do CHW capacity building, supervision and breach the gap between facilities and communities through the WBPHCOT program.

    Professional Nurse AYFS - Maruleng Rural

    We are looking for a Professional Nurse: AYFS to focus on working and improving 95-95-95 among children and adolescents (0-24 years) services and prevention services in Mopani, prioritizing on adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) ages between 10 -24 year and working with other DREAMS partners. He/she will ensure that AGYW are provided with relevant care that meets their needs, through a holistic approach strategy, as part of a team of professionals working in Anova.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services (AYFS)

    • Identify, establish and maintain AYFS platforms at facilities (PHC and CHC)
    • Conduct AYFS assessments at PHC facilities
    • Ensure that facilities are adhering to 10 national AYFS standards
    • Establish bi-directional referral channels (community/facility/TVETs) referral channels to AYFS
    • Scale up youth friendly health services e.g. condom services, HTS including HIV self-screening and contraception mix, STI screening and treatment at facilities and TVETs
    • Linkage to Prevention and other services (post-violence care)
    • Ensure that eligible individuals mainly adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) are linked to prevention services and retained as needed at facilities and TVETs
    • Ensure that facilities are implementing GBV L.I.V.E.S model
    • Roll out DREAMS in all sub-districts supported by Anova
    • Ensure that DREAMS is being implemented in all and eligible Adolescent girls and young women are being enrolled
    • Train health care workers in facilities in DREAMS
    • Conduct DREAMS impact surveys
    • Implement Family care day models in facilities to ensure successful linkage to treatment, retention and adherence
    • Train health care workers in paediatric and adolescent ART management

    Strengthening Internal Role and Administration

    • Support all other Anova staff with planning, organizing and execution of adolescent and young people program (AYP) activities
    • Provide regular oral and/written program updates
    • Assist with monthly statistics collection
    • Attend all team meetings as per invite
    • Timely submission of weekly plans, request and reports
    • Monitor and evaluate DREAMS programming and progress per PEPFAR MER guidelines and COP

    Supervision, Monitoring and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Supervise and monitor adolescent enrolled nurses and youth connectors (peer educators and linkage officers) activities at sub-districts
    • Form and maintain partnerships with other implementing partners
    • Train and mentor health care workers, youth connectors (peer educators and linkage officers), operational managers, campus nurses and AYFS champions to deliver AYFS and collect data
    • Train clinicians and non-clinicians on AYFS, GBV, PrEP, YCC and other models as per neeed

    Any other tasks as agreed with line manager
    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Professional Nurse with midwifery diploma/ degree and registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
    • Local youth between 20 to 30 years of age
    • NIMART trained, mentored and certified as competent
    • 2 to 3 years’ experience in HIV and TB management
    • Experience in supervising a team
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Good report writing skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office
